Ahhh so good to get a comment from you Kellie! I only have about 3 seconds to say hi, but I'm coming back later to check up on you :)
Even if that motivation bug doesn't come, just keep going through the motions. Eventually it WILL come back, and at the very least you'll be at the same weight instead of heavier- now that would really suck.
Good Morning Kellie!
Thanks for the posts. As for veggies, you will never find me eating them raw, but I low cooked veggies or hiding them in some of my foods. I made a cheeseburger roll up dinner and it has one zucchini shredded and added for bulk. I served it to my boyfriends roommates and they had NO idea. I can get you the recipe. But I have just gotten very creative with veggies I guess. roasted chick peas are a great snack, or sweet potato fries, or even spaghetti squash which is a new favorite of mine, because I treat it like a grain rather then a veggies.
As for not counting points or calories. Well I figure if I am making healthy choices and am working out that it will balance. I actually make out two lists before I got grocery shopping. One list has all the meals we will have for the week, breakfast foods, and lunch foods. I then make my grocery list off of that. And only get that (otherwise ill be down the chip aisle looking for "new" finds....which is just too tempting). I then look at all the different products and compare points. I find if I have lost fat, low calories, low point things in the house that I dont have to worry as much about counting. I even go to the point of taking a sharpie and writing two points over the nutritional facts of wheat thins or whatever just so that I am aware. It is just easier for me that way!
Hope that helps! Also for you and the family check out.... www.shoutinfromtherooftop.com She has two girls and some great family friendly meals! And SUPER easy as well!
Blue bunny makes some good ice cream that is made with splenda that is pretty low in points. And I think great value (wal-mart) brand makes an ice cream sandwich with splenda that is low in points. I also found a brand of little debbie type snacks made with splenda that aren't too expensive - it's called Mrs. Freshley's. I also make alot of pies with sf ff pudding and reduced fat graham cracker crusts.
Why is it so darn hard to stay motivated? I struggle with that myself. I'll be really good for a couple of weeks, then spend a week or so just half-heartedly OP. Ugh. We need to figure out a way to bottle and sell motivation! We'd make a mint. :D
Hey, you! What have you been up to lately? I've fallen down in my no late night snacking, but I'm still plugging away, trying to make it to One-derland. (I was right near it again this week ... 200.6 ... I re-gained the .4 I lost the week before.)
You definitely don't need the mac & cheese ... have a turkey wrap ... and if you must eat mac & cheese, stop with a spoonful or two. (I know, that's easier said than done. I usually have to avoid it altogether, because two bites becomes four and then I've devoured the entire box ... pre-Atkins, I would fix myself a box of mac & cheese, and that was lunch. Awful to think about, eh?)
Up for it? I'm already doing it: I've avoided late-night snacking for three days now! And I think it's working: my home scale said 198.6 this morning. Woo-hoo!
Thank you SO much for your super sweet comment on my picture! I really appreciate it a lot and that definitely put a smile on my face for the day! Thanks again!
