November is bringing all sorts of new things for me. I started a new job *(though not by choice), it will be my first full month as a new MBA graduate, my baby is now 10 months old as of yesterday and I am starting a new approach to weight loss, writing about it online and striving to be a healthier person for the sake of my son. I think the big thing I really need to work on is the diet portion of losing weight. I say this for a few reasons; I am already fairly good at working out as I am addicted to endorphins apparently. It is not too difficult for me to go to the gym, especially since I can work out on my lunch break. Quinn is 10 months old and is interested in everything I eat, and I really mean everything. This is really making me reflect on what it is that I am eating. Additionally, I need to stop relying on the baby foods you can buy in the jar as he will only be interested in eating that for another few weeks. I need to start making healthy meals that I can share with Quinn. If I am cooking healthier at home my husband will eat healthier too. He has expressed interest in becoming healthier and since he is a lazy male when it comes to the kitchen he will be depending on me to help provide healthy meals. Additionally, I need to develop a healthy relationship with food and eat to fuel my body, not because I am stressing.
So my goals:
1. Learn to enjoy cooking by trying one new recipe at least every other weekend (preferably Saturdays but that is not always the case so I leave it open to “weekend”)
2. Achieve a goal weight of 150 pounds, losing on the average 1.5 lbs per week (this will put me at 150 on May 3rd)
3. Complete a weekly weigh in every Monday only (stop weighing myself daily!!!)
4. Run a 5K before 6/5/10
5. HOLD MYSELF ACCOUNTABLE by blogging about what I eat EVERY DAY. In the event I am not near the computer I will log the food on paper and translate into the blog as soon as I can get on a computer with internet.
5 days to go, time to be healthy for Monday’s weigh in, and the rest of this week will all be about food choices.
