Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. As of 10:30 a.m. today, I am officially done with summer classes! I am so relieved! I am proud to say that I've made Dean's List again. I definitely worked hard for that A in algebra! I will never have to take another math class again! Yessss:-) Now I can enjoy a two week break from school.

Fall classes begin on the 29th. I'm kind of anxious about them. I'm taking 14 credit hours and working part-time. I typed out my schedule, and had to figure out when I would get to the gym. There is a gym at school, but I like going to the community center in town. I like the machines there, and the staff is awesome. My plan is to workout early before class. This means I've got to make sure I'm in bed a little earlier. I'm taking a personal training class next quarter that I'm SUPER excited about. I'll post details about that later.

Anyway, after leaving campus I was feeling totally pumped! So, I hit the gym and burned 625 calories! I did 45 minutes of cardio and 25 minutes of strength training. Man, do I feel good! For some reason I got really emotional on the way home. I was thinking about the day I joined the gym, weighing in at 220 pounds. I remember I couldn't even do the elliptical trainer for 5 minutes. I couldn't run more than 2 minutes at a time. I was sooo out of shape. Now, I'm running up to 3 miles at a time. I can do the elliptical for an hour. I have taken Spinning. I lift weights. I do squats and lunges. I am going to be working with a personal trainer. That is something I would've been too embarrassed to do 54 pounds ago.

I feel like I've finally got a grip on things, and am truly realizing that food doesn't make me feel better when I'm down...exercise does!

So, no matter what your level...get out there! Go for a walk! Fall is just around the corner. You don't need a fancy gym or expensive equipment. Hit the pavement, jump-rope with your kids, go for a hike! The key is to enjoy the activity, not too mention the BEAUTIFUL weather!

WOOOHOO! I always loved the feeling of being done with classes. I really appreciate this reflective post, Hannah. Your progress is truly amazing and it's great that you are owning that success because it's all YOURS! Go you! PS: I'm really excited to hear more about what a personal trianer in training learns so I'm counting on those details later. :-)

Awesome!! I wish I could fit the gym back in my schedule. Hopefully once I get back into the routine of teaching, I'll be able to do it a couple times a week. For now, 30DS will have to do. But it would be AMAZING to burn over 600 calories in one go!!

I LOVE the fact that you are focusing on how far you've come. That's something I don't do nearly enough of. It's such an amazing thing that you have lost 54 pounds and changed your body and mind! Great job on the 625 calories too, that is a TON!
