No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
In February of 2008 I weighed 340 pounds and was at a low point in my life as far as my health. I was flying home from the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles and was just miserable with my weight. It was on that flight that I decided I had to do something. I had been on every diet known to mankind and had lost some and then gained it all back.
Some friends of mine at work at the radio station had a lot of success with Weight Watchers. I always figured WW was not meant for someone like me. Boy was I wrong. Weight Watchers changed maybe even saved my life.
I remember walking into WW and be so embarrassed how big I was. I told the woman who weighed me in to NOT even tell me what I weighed. Everyone who was at the meeting was so supportive and inspiring. My leader Sue is an incredible woman who has lost over 120 pounds and her meetings made me laugh, inspired me and had me excited about every Thursday morning at 930.
Not only is Sue inspiring but all the other members in the meeting inspired me and motivated me so much. They feel like family. I ended up losing 130 pounds and made WW lifetime, fast forward to today and I am sitting here recuperating from tummy tuck surgery.
In losing 130 pounds my skin had great resiliency aside from the stomach area. I had long thought about after I lost the weight about having tummy tuck surgery.
I had two amazing surgeons perform the procedure Dr Richard Williams and Dr. Michael Ledbetter of The Plastic Surgery Group here in Cincinnati.I cannot begin to tell you about the amazing care I have received from not only the PSG but the doctors as well. Not only do they do amazing work but they go so far beyond as far as patient care.
I won't go in to TMI or the details but just know that as I sit here and write this I look down and still have to do a double take at my stomach. I have never had a flat stomach in my life and now I do.
I don't write any of this to brag or to say "hey look at me." I write it from a standpoint of dreams. When I first started WW in Feb 2008 I had hoped to improve my health and today I sit here and tell you...dare to dream. When others drown you in doubt, just keep your head down, work hard and you WILL achieve every goal that you heart desires.
