Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

So this week I tried something new - I made a conscious effort to not blow thru my flex points on the weekend and envisioned myself having 5 extra points each day and voila! It has been fabulous! I feel like I am (finally) working the program the way I am supposed to and am satisfied! Most weeks I would be out of extra points by Wed. and hungry! So we'll see this Saturday at weigh in but I am feeling good!

Also, I am noticing that when I don't eat sugar, I don't crave it as much - does anyone else find that? It makes me realize what a horrible cycle I was in when I would eat a bag of swedish fish and then wonder why I would crave sweets like a mad woman - it's all starting to click now!

I am excited to hear how this works for you this week. I need to do some tweaking after tomorrow's weigh in. My goal is to do something different every week to keep my body guessing. Oh and sugar definitely makes me crave more sugar. Diet Coke also makes me crave sugar.

yes. the less sugar the less you crave. completely true. i think it screws with your reward center in your brain make you addicted or something.

Oh good, I am glad this is working. Is it easier to enjoy eating with the hubby now?

I like the idea of dividing up flex points, especially in an average or typical week. This week, I've been forced to save them for a trip to a theme park, but there have been a couple of days where those points would have been awfully nice and motivating. :) :) I have been shocked by how awful sugary foods taste to me now. Last weekend on a binge, I was ready to eat a Betty Crocker Warm Delight.. It only took about two bites before I felt physically sick and ended up handing the thing over to my fiance---the more I stay away from sugar, the less appealing it has become.

couldn't be more true- the more sugar you eat the more you want. I find it works the other way too- the more healthy i eat the more i want to continue to eat healthy.
How many calories does an extra 5 points a day add (I'm unfailiar with WW)?

Heck yes! Thats why I dont eat sugar very often anymore. The first 5 days were tough...but now I dont even want it. It was like an addiction and Im glad Im over it! Try not having it for a while and you will be suprised that after a rough few days...you dont want it as much:)

I didn't notice that about sugar until I read what you wrote. It makes sense and, now that I think about it, I do see the same habit. Way to go on figuring out a good plan for you!
