I have stopped going to my supervised program...it was costly and I've had equal or better success with less costly programs such as WW. It is partially my fault as I refuse to eat a lettuce only (1 cup) meal a day. I want real food!! I have never had an issue with moderately low carb..low fat..low cal...but supplement shakes and lettuce are not for me...I will just resolve to lose this weight maybe a little slower and not feel so deprived. I may return to WW or begin TOPS if I see that I'm stru…

Hey guys! Well..It's been a while since I posted..and yes I hit a plateau for 2 weeks..but I'm down 5 more pounds. It came off when I did a little mini flush aka salads and lots of h2o. I think a lot of it was water weight that I was holding onto (too much sodium and eating out). Chinese food is loaded with sodium, but at the time I thought I was making good choices based on calories. Sometimes, it's just difficult to cook every meal and know exactly what you are putting into your body unfortuna…

I went in for my weigh in and counseling today. My systolic bp has dropped from 136 to 98..I lost nearly 3 pounds but my overall inches lost since I began this program is 28...including 5 inches in my waist!! I lost very little in the lower half of my body...I suppose that I'm destined to be a pear lol. The last few weeks have been tough as I have rarely been home and being out in the middle of nowhere with not even a convenience store in sight has been rough. I was surrounded by fair/carnival t…

I'm a little late in this post, but as of Monday, I was down another 3 pounds..a 10 pound loss in 2 weeks. I'm beginning to notice it in my face and waist. I wish I would see it more coming from my hips too lol. I'm one of these strange people that lose the waistline down to small before my thunder thighs and hips ever drop a pound it seems like lol. I guess I need to dust off the eliptical (I'll have to take my winter coats off of it first). I think that I'm going to drink the propel water desp…

Woo hoo!! I couldn't be happier! Things are going well! Strategy is so important...something has to be said for planning ahead. I've always felt like I had a great deal of willpower, but willpower will only take you so far. I make sure that I have plenty of options in the fridge and take things with me when I venture out. Keeping water on hand to sip on throughout the day is a lot better than forcefully chugging it to get my quota in. I've found a few things that the kids actually like that we c…

Ok..I'm doing great today..yesterday was a little tricky with the early festivities at a local venue. I drank sweet tea..but only about 12 oz. Otherwise I did fine, they had cajun food including crawdads (yummo). I'm heading to work tonight for the first time since The Diet. We (my coworkers and myself) usually either eat out or get things from the cafeteria (mostly fried). Some people jokingly call it Vitamin C (for Cholesterol). I'm going in...armed with my bottled water and zucchini. I'll pic…

Yesterday was my first day of cleansing. In retrospect, I guess it wasn't the best idea to drive an hour and a half in the heat with 2 kids in tow. It lead to drinking lots of cold drinks...mostly diet ones with caffeine and sodium (that I'm not supposed to have). I did ok on lunch ...I could have done better. The whole point in going was to get to a Sam's where I could stock up on bottled water, anything on plan, and household stuff. Then we hit BK on the way home...pure junk...but in small amo…

Wow..it's been forever since I posted. Life hit me pretty hard..I felt guilty for spending time and money on WW. I gave up posting because I felt like I sucked at life. So, I gave it up without a real plan...big mistake!! I'm back to where I started and a few more. It really sucks! I guess that i thought that I could just be fat and happy, but I hurt like hell! I ache ..neck, back, hips, knees, feet. I can't stand living like this. I can't keep up with my 2 yr old. So, this morning I signed up f…

I've been doing some research and talking to some of my family members who raised their own food and still do to an extent. A year ago, I moved out here to my own little piece of heaven out in the country on 6 acres of land. I kept a few chickens in the past when I first moved out here from the city. I had a daily supply of farm fresh brown eggs. Since then, I've raised pigs with limited success. I planted an enormous garden last summer and only harvested 1 armful veggies. The local deer, birds,…

I spoke to a friend and coworker this past weekend who had the lap banding performed in august. She has had about a 50 lb loss which is wonderful..However, when I got to discussing it with her further...she is sticking to a really strict diet. This begs the question..Could she not have been just as successful following the strict diet without going through the trauma of surgery? and Will the banding really have long term effects without the strict dieting? I realize that the banding will slow th…

The weekend went really well. I ate really well and pretty much ate core foods the entire weekend. I've been watching my intake for almost 2 weeks now and I'm down 6 pounds and surprisingly down 7 pounds since my last entry here. I don't know how I managed to lose through all of that comfort eating, but I'm glad that I did. Maybe subconsciously I ate a little more healthfully than I thought. The difference though is the energy boost that I so desparately needed. I'm feeling so much better now th…

Hey, It's been quite some time since I last posted and I wanted to touch base with everyone. There have been so many things that have happened since August that I wouldn't know where to begin. Thankfully, I've survived 2008! I don't know how but I've managed to keep off most of what I had lost and I'm now on track again. I never forgot you guys and your friendship meant and still means a lot to me. I'm holding things together, but it was really crazy for a while there. 2008 was full of trials an…

These past few weeks have been crazy. My 15 month old son was diagnosed with Strep throat, double ear infection and the early stages of Scarlet Fever (Scarletina rash). My 9 yr old just returned from her travels to Texas and Colorado and every state in between. I finally picked her up from the airport Tuesday with baby Michael who got pretty carsick along the way. I got lots of AP that day (if I were counting). Airport Drama! I've been working lots of overtime to get caught up on medical bills.…

I was doing so well with eating and drinking water, then my baby got sick and man did that stress me out. I haven't eaten any junk...just maybe too much food in general. The water has been traded back in for caffeine and I am exhausted. I'm hoping that things will be better tomorrow (hes been on antibiotics since yesterday). I know that I haven't gained but I'll be doing well to post a loss. I haven't really been shopping like I usually do and everything is just running off the tracks. Luckily,…

I changed it up a little this week and went to primarily soups and salads. I buy the Progresso Minestrone, it's really great and low points. I've been doing salads with chicken, lean ham, and tuna (not together). I've been using Zesty Italian dressing in Kroger brand. I also marinate meats with this for grilling, baking, etc. I've had a few sandwiches with lean ham or turkey, honey mustard on whole grain breads. TOM left this weekend and I feel a lot better since. I was apparantly holding a lot…

For the first time since starting WW, the scales have not moved!! I'm smack dab in the middle of TOM and bloated up like a puffer fish. I have done everything that I'm supposed to do. I haven't had any sweets whatsoever. I want to chalk it all up to TOM, but I'm wondering if I could have done something different..I don't want to go through this again next month. I guess I'll just really start pushing water. This is the first week that I haven't posted a loss and it's just aggravating. My family…

I'm feeling kind of Suzy Homemakerish today. I found a cool link to free apron patterns. I put it below for anyone who is interested. I'm thinking about making some up and putting them with a recipe, pan, and a whisk or something for Christmas gifts. I guess you could do up a bbq style set for a man. It looks like some good quality mommy and me time for me and DD. I'm doing well on the eating front, staying busy with cleaning and getting the kids packed for their trip to TX and CO to see their a…

My sister called me last night from a Beverly Hills restaurant. I think that they have hit every shop on Rodeo Drive (only window shopping, of course). They met Al Pacino the first night that they were there at a restaurant somewhere nearby. They have stayed in Laguna Beach, LA, and Beverly Hills so far. My sister the fashion diva, is all over it. They are living it up and I'm working, cleaning house, and cooking every meal for my family. They have a maid and a cook where they are at for the mos…

I was just reading an article that I had heard about how Jean Paul Gaultier had a 290 lb model in his fall runway show a year and a half ago. She said in an interview that she was promoting size acceptance. Part of me wants to applaud her and part of me thinks that she was used to mock the industry being called to the carpet for not having realistic sized models. Was this JPG's way of joking? If this wasn't a joke it was a bold move on his part to put a size 26/28 model amongst his size 2 waifs.…

4 more pounds gone! Eating out in Memphis was a breeze. We went to Olive Garden and I ordered the soup, salad and more. A large salad tossed with a light italian dressing, a nice bowl of Minestrone, and Garlic Breadsticks. Not sure how many points to count for the breadsticks. I erred on the side of liberalism and counted them 4 pts each. I stayed way under points as I had 2 of my 2 point banana bran muffins. The first surprise of the day was finding 2 very gorgeous sofa prints for my living roo…
