About Me:
I started my journey in early 2009. My start weight was 256 lbs. I am doing it the old fashioned way of calorie counting, portion control and exercise. I try to eat whole foods whenever possible and try to stay away from artificial sweeteners and processed foods. My honey is helping me with exercising by going biking and walking with me when ever we can. He really supports me and wants me to be healthy so that we have a long, happy life together.

Challenge Initial Test

Here are my results for the 100 push-up/200 sit up/200 squats challenge:

Push ups (modified): 10

Sit ups: 40

Squats*: 15

I'm going to train on a Mon/Wed/Fri schedule for at least 6 weeks. After I can do 100 modified push ups I am going to restart the push up challenge until I can do 100 regular push ups.

*My knee was making the cracking noise the whole time I did the squats... I'm a little concerned.

I'm a slacker....

The past month has been really trying for me. I've done the best I can to eat right and not eat junk and chemicals and all the things I have removed from my diet. I even faced a vending machine for 4 days of training (we don't have vending machines in our offices so it's not usually a problem) and came out with a bag of Snyder's pretzel snaps (that took me three days to eat the whole bag of) and a bag of unsalted trail mix, instead of chips and candy bars.

1) I realized today when I came here to log my weight that I haven't "officially" weighed in over a month. I've stepped on the scale here or there to see how I was doing but not on my usual day and not at the usual time so....

I haven't forgotten...

Hi blog friends...It has been a rough couple of weeks for me. I'm trying to get back on track after two weeks of eating whatever was fast (but not fast food!) and easy and not caring how many calories it all was. I'm also going to restart the challenge since I took the test two weeks ago and haven't been able to even look at since then. I just wanted to let you guys know... My Grandpa passed away last night at 6pm. He was surround with the people who love him and he went peacefully. Thank you so much for the love you all sent me and my family.

Sounds like you've got a great plan, girl! Starting with the basics will definitely make you succeed! Go get one of those huge Nalgene water bottles, that's what I have! Then i just guzzle away all day =) Oh, and something I just started re-doing; giving myself a smaller plate to eat from then our dinner plates. Works every time! You can only fill it so much, lol.

My goal this week is to get back into the exercising groove. I ran last night (sensor didn't work again, so I'm getting one rushed to me) and starting that challenge I talked about in my blog today. I'm hoping to run at least three times this week, wish me luck!!

I think we should do this every week, give each other our "mini goals" and check back to see if we've followed through on them. I need the fear of someone kicking my butt every now and then, haha. Hope you have a great week, Renee!!

Thanks for your comment- I'm drinking as much caffiene as ever... unfortunately. I'm forever trying to quit... apparently it's a slow process for me. Good thought, I will have to try and notice if that affects my lightheadedness!

Great idea on the hard boiled eggs! For a while I was adding one to a salad and I was SHOCKED how long it was keeping me full. Thanks! And also thanks for you insight on the caffeine/HFCS thing. It made me wonder because I often have an extremely hard time concentrating, and all along I thought it was ADD. It will be interesting to see what a caffeine free life is like. Can't wait for those restful nights!
