Profile Information

About Me:
I started to learn WW principles in 2006 after a health scare at a weight of 205. I fell in love with healthy cooking, and I'm currently trying to fall in love with exercise. I was an athlete in high school, so I'm not new to exercise--I've just been on vacation for about 15 years.
Plan of Choice:
High Fiber, Weight Watchers
This is a blank food log document I made. Feel free to use it: ww.xls

Let's see..what's new?

Thyroid: I don't have a thyroid, so I'm on thyroid replacement hormones. That was all fine and dandy until the decided to change my dose. I got hugely depressed as a result. The specialists swear it has nothing to do with the dose change, but I'm still very suspicious. They told me to go on antidepressants, because they are not putting my thyroid dose back to where it was.

Depression: So after several weeks of depression, I ended up on an antidepressant. I hate it. Don't… Continue

There's no Magic?

I’ve been thinking about why I’m not enthusiastic this time to be back on plan, and I think I’ve figured it out: There’s no magic!

I just realized that this process isn’t magical, and there are no magic results. I must still have hope or I wouldn’t keep trying. But the belief in something magic happening is gone. I suppose that is a good thing. Believing in magical goals is just as pointless in not having any goals set at all. Neither one will get me where I want to go.

As I think of other thi… Continue

Soup in Summer

I'm working third shift this week (8pm-3am). By the time I sleep in, it's lunch time. I met the hubby for lunch today and had pizza. Therefore, I need an extremely low-points supper. I just kind of threw this together:

Chicken Rice Soup, 2-3 points per BIG bowl
1-2 cup long-grain rice (I use the Uncle Bens 90-second bags)
10 slices chicken or turkey lunchmeat, shredded
1-1/2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
1 cup chopped spinach
3 cups water
3 teaspoons chicken boullion granules
4 teaspoons… Continue

Check In

I had a good day today after getting "back on board." Blogging last night got the ball started. I ate well, drank lots of water, got off my butt, and had a heart-to-heart with my hubby. Getting my struggles out in the open makes it less shameful for some reason. I need to remember that. :)

I'm still not chipper about it, but doing what needs to be done.

Food Log: NutraGrain bar (2), spaghetti and bread (6), cookies throughout the day (3), banana (1), peas (1), cheese bread (2), cereal (6)

The Swimdress Prevailed

I've been in a funk for a long time now--several weeks to months. I can't remember the last time I exercised or really put a lot of effort into cooking healthy. I bought a 2-piece swimsuit for this summer, thinking it would motivate me to keep moving ahead with my weight loss. It didn't. I ended up buying a swimdress recently because of reality. I guess what they say is true that you can't lose weight for something as superficial as a wedding or a vacation or swimsuit season. You have to have a… Continue

Hey Kaemrain...thanks for joining our Breast Cancer 3Day walkers group! We'll totally need all the cheerleaders we can get! Especially when it comes to our training beginning! The training program they have designed is pretty intense! The weekly mileage ranges anywhere from 18-44 miles per week!

Hey saw your comment on the board about your WW slider thing. I actually just walked into my WW location and bought one of the calculators for 10 dollars. And I was not a memeber of WW. I would give that a try!
