Profile Information

About Me:
I am a 36 year old mom of 5 great kids from 4--15. My husband is awesome, and I love that I get to be home with my kids everyday. What I don't love is the tremendous girth that has become my body (!) due to not taking care of myself. About two years ago, after realizing my addiction to sugar (and many other things!), I went off sugar and white flour completely for one year and lost 45 pounds. I felt fantastic! I was a totally different person...although I was still 20 pounds over goal, I was confident and optimistic that I would reach it. On my one year anniversary (of no sugar), my friends and I had a Sugar Party to celebrate my success...aaaaand-- I have since been on a two year binge, if you will! I had no idea how I was going to respond to that sudden implementation of sugar and refined flour back into my diet! I literally lost all control, gave up, and have gained all of the 45 pounds back, plus 6.5 bonus pounds! I stumbled upon Roni's site and then found this...I am inspired by her weight loss success and am desperately needing strength from ANYWHERE, EVERYWHERE, and EVERYONE to help me do the same!
Plan of Choice:
Weight Watchers
Workout Philosophy:
I stay active doing everyday activities, I only exercise because I have to

My goal:

Trying AGAIN.....

Hello strangers. I have put myself on a roller coaster of a ride these past few months....years actually. Not sure how to stay on the weight loss path, but one thing is--I keep trying! Starting the 30 day Biggest Loser Jump Start tomorrow.....sounds kinda silly, but it looks like fun to me, and a structure to follow. Not sure I like putting that out there, but I guess it keeps me accountable. :) Good luck to you all this week!

Today's food...and yesterday's weigh in

I forgot to post my weigh in results from yesterday. I had been afraid to see what resulted from a weekend of responding to stress horribly, and overeating....I gained .5 pounds. I would've had a loss if it weren't for about a day and a half or so of not being on track! Ah well, it could've been worse, and I'll try for a better one next time.

Today's food:

Raisin Bran w/ 1 C milk

Turkey sandwich on roll with 1 slice light swiss cheese, Veggie Crisps, nectarine

At the movie: 100 cal popcorn,… Continue

4 out of 5

I met 4 of my 5 goals for today: I ate a high fiber breakfast that carried me through the morning with out feeling hungry, I exercised today (rode my bike along side my runner husband), I stayed with in my points allowance, and I am blogging my food journal. The goal I did not accomplish today was drinking lots of water. I drank no water. Not one drop. That is terrible! I had milk with my breakfast, and diet soda with my dinner, and drank nada in between. Yikes. I am going to have some now, but… Continue

Demolition & Reconstruction!

I WAS thinking I handled the stress of my house flooding (x3) pretty well last week! It was stressful, but we were pluggin along, getting through it. I had a couple of moments when I wanted to cry/scream/run away, but I pretty much held it together.....counting my points every day and staying on track. I even exercised 4 days last week (first week adding exercise, goal was 5). I was in some amount of control and feeling pretty good about it.....

This weekend has been a totally different story!… Continue

Wanna hear something FUNNY?

For those few of you who may have seen my blog yesterday, "Could've used Noah's Ark," you might like this. 3 days in a row, basement flooded, 3 totally different and unrelated reasons! First day, hubby and I fixed the problem ourselves, pretty minor, but spent all day doing it. 2nd day, yesterday, toilet overflowed all night causing a HUGE flood in all 1800 sq. ft. of our basement. Disaster Cleanup company came. All stuff had to be moved out, all carpet ripped out, 3 of my 5 kids kicked out of t… Continue

Ooo! That jumpstart sounds like fun! I love that show! That is awesome that you are going back to school. I need to gain some courage (and figure out where the heck the money would come from) to go back to school myself. Just miserable with work right now. Thanks for the inspiration to make a change! When do you start? Past month has been testy. I got into a regular gym routine, but it's just not enough to maintain the kind of weightloss (1-2 pounds/week) I had before so I'm trying to get back outside to running. I've been SLOWLY working my way through the 160s. I'm at a point where I'm ok with maintaining for now. Other areas of my life need some help (like work). My goal is to just keep up healthy habits with food and exercise enough to maintain until I'm mentally ready to bring it to the next level.

Awe, thanks! Haven't been rocking it lately...but still losing. Good, good! Figuring out "what I want to be when I grow up" (even though I've already grown up and chosen a career...time for a change) and finally getting into a winter gym groove. How have YOU been?

No, I don't do WW online. I'm a calorie counter. I'd love to learn WW because it seems much simpler, but the calorie trackin is working for me so I figure why worry?

Favorite memories would be everyone just getting together and doing odd things. Like one Christmas the whole family (as adults) built a 15 foot high tower out of blocks because my brother had made and given all of the families sets of them. My favorite tradition is everyone calling you on your birthday and not just saying it, but SINGING happy birthday to you. Ok, my brothers don't sing. But my sisters and all of their kids do.

Jill, your positive attitude never ceases to amaze me! It clearly rubs off on your kids too--that is fantastic that he is so excited. You have to do and balance so much in a day! I love hearing about your family. It reminds me of being back home with my nine siblings. Big families are the best!

I'm doing good, also dealing with a sick mom and yes I understand it can suck. But staying on the bright side is better for my sanity I think. I'm getting on here more often to keep myself on track but I tend to get stuck on here lol instead of doing some work. Anywho, I'm off to prep my meals for the day and maybe squeeze in a workout. Hope you're stayin afloat on everything ;) Don't let it sink you down. Remember you can't eat until an hour after your get out of the water. Ok sorry, I'll stop the puns..............for now :P

You will definitely climb back up! I am certain of that. Things have been good for me. I just keep trying to focus on the small goals and break down one barrier at a time. Glad you didn't find my comments annoying. I try to bug people when I don't hear from them in a while...hope that they would do the same for me if I ever went MIA. Here is to a great week on plan!
