Progress Starting Weight: 217 lbs (April 2001)
New Start Weight: 200.5 lbs (Sept 2009)
Current Weight: 198 lbs
WW Goal Weight: 165 lbs
Personal Goal Wt: 150 lbs
Lowest Weight: 163 lbs
Current Weight: 198 lbs
(I have been hanging around 190-200 lbs for years)

Plan
Plan of Choice: Weight Watchers Flex Points & Calorie Counting
Daily Target Points: 26

Goals
Under 200 lbs (reached 09/18/09)
189 lbs. I just really want to be in the 180's.
180 lbs. 10% weight loss
170 lbs. 15% weight loss
165 lbs. I hit Lifetime (again).
160 lbs. 20% weight loss
150 lbs. Personal Goal. This is what I weighed when I got married. I dont think it is very realistic because I was playing softball on three teams, planning a wedding, and I didnt have children. I was smaller than I had ever been and I know most people would gasp at 150 but I was actually very thin.

I second Shannon's advice. Start at a pace that works for you. We're all different...some people are naturally programmed to run shorter, faster distances while others slower, longer distances...there are tons of different situations for all of us.…

I set my time goals to just improve against myself. So if you know your starting at 16/mile...just have your next goal to be a couple miles at 15/mile then down and down and down. Right now I average about 11:00-12:00/mile jogging Fastest yet is 10:…

Thanks for the encouragement. I will also check out the Couch to 5k. A 12 min mile sounds wonderful. I hope to be there one day.

Good for you for moving in any way that feels good. 8 min mile is FAST! I have been running for 4 months (used Couch to 5k and I totally recommend it! Google it and you will find the training times). I run a 12 min mile. I was sick over Thanksgiving…

Portions and planning. I deny myself nothing. If I want ice cream, I eat ice cream. If I want haystacks, I have haystacks. If I want steak, I have steak. You get the idea. The key to all of this for me is to have small amounts to satisfy, not stuff.…

It is frustrating to see others eat whatever they want while you are working towards a weight loss goal. I feel your pain. It is useful to remember that being overweight is now "normal" in the U.S. It has been a real process for me to realize that I…

About Me:
I am 39 (wow... can you believe that) and I was an average size all through high school. After I got married I packed on an instant 30lbs and it just went up with every pregnancy (3 of them). My all time hight was 217 and that was when I first started Weight Watchers in 2001, after the birth of my 3rd child. I was very successful with WW and hit my goal and made Lifetime. (Lifetime weight = 165) As soon as I hit Lifetime I tried to do it on my own without going to WW meetings and I gradually slipped back into my old habits. (eating out is going to be the death of me!!!! I just love to eat out!!!!)

I have restarted WW more than a hundred times but I just cant seem to stick with it. It seems like it is much harder to lose weight now than it was before. I have been hanging around 190-200 lbs for the past couple of years, but 200 seems to be the place where my body wants to stay.

Well... now I am here trying it all over again. I went to an "official" weigh-in and I am officially starting at 200.5 I really feel like I am more determined this time. I really like reading all the posts on this site and it keeps my mind thinking about making better choices.

Anyhoo... that is me. Wish me luck!!!
Plan of Choice:
Weight Watchers
Workout Philosophy:
I stay active doing everyday activities, I only exercise because I have to

Running question

Question???? Please help.

I really want to be a runner but I never thought it was possible because of stress incontenience and my size but I really want to give it a try. Today I ran/walked 1.7 miles in about 28 minutes. The question is... What kind of goal should I set for myself as far as speed? I need something realistic for a beginner. I was told years ago that an 8 min mile was good, but that just seems IMPOSSIBLE!!~! I think I did approx a 16 minute mile. Is that ridiculous??? I think I u… Continue

Why is this so hard. Any suggestions?

Why is it so hard to stay on track. I feel like I am going in circles. I want to cook for my family, but it seems like I always make bad choices if I have goodies around. It is Fall and I wanted to make haystacks for my family. Of course, I had to have some. I made cowboy soup for my family and I wanted to make cornbread to go with it. That definitely is not on my eating plan. Will I ever be able to cook and eat like "normal" people?????

Breakfast:
2 white wheat toast with jelly 2 points.

So far the food has actually been really good!!! Today was my second day. Yesterday for lunch I had a turkey burger and spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. Lunch today was chow mein, and then turkey with mashed potatoes and green beans for dinner. Everything has been really good so far. I also like the one on one consultation!

Hey, thanks for the comment. Good luck! I count calories and track weight at http://www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate/. I do a screen shot (push "PrntScrn") of my weight chart on there, then copy it over to photoshop and crop it down, then save it as an image to post on here. Hope that helps!
