That's a wonderful achievement!!! As for the vitamins, I just wanted to add to Sabrina's comment and say that they now make ADULT gummy vitamins as well, and chewable calcium supplements too. :-)

About Me:
I'm a single working mother who has been "thinking" about losing weight for a long while now. I know what to do...I just haven't done it yet. I was thin as a child and growing up, but through my adult years and 2 pregnancies have continued to put on the pounds on my small 5'4 frame. I am now up to 259 lbs. I've never had good eating habits and I use food to manage stress and emotions. I'm a private person so this is something totally new for me, but I know I need support and accountability. I know this won't be easy, but I'm ready to make some changes.
Plan of Choice:
Low Fat, High Fiber
Workout Philosophy:
I loath exercice, I love lifting weights, I only exercise because I have to

Plotting my revenge...(don't tell anyone) :)

I set out with good intentions this morning. My kids and I decided to go hiking. I like hiking..always have..but it's been a while since I've tried anything to strenuous. ("a while = years) So I pulled out my handy dandy trail guide book for the area and scoped out the perfect hike. My daughter wanted to do a particular trail she knew of so I looked it up...the guide book called the trail "easy". Checking In

It's been a while. Where does the time go? Thought I'd update my blog. I've lost 65 lbs so far! It's been a much different experience than I ever thought it would be. I'm getting tons of compliments and everyone around me keeps asking me "How are you doing it? Tell me your secret!" It's funny because even though I know I've lost weight when I look at myself in the mirror I don't see it. I guess it's going to take my brain a while to catch up.

Going down

Just a quick note to check in. Still losing, but still not incorporating exercise yet. Had to go to the store to get a few new pairs of jeans because my old ones were falling off my body. I kinda like the way clothes that are to big feel because it reminds me I lost some weight, but it looks sloppy so I caved and bought a smaller size. I should comment that I hate shopping with a passion so even though I was happy to have a smaller size I wasn't happy about shopping. And can I add that dressing… Continue

Focus

I started well this week and then lost focus. I'm working on my reaction to stress and I very much this week reacted to stress with my old habits. There were some downs in my weight at the beginning of the week but those turned to some gains. I am up 1.4 lbs from last week. I had set a goal of losing 3 lbs. I'm going to set that goal again for this week. I'm not going to look back (other than to learn from my experiences), but move forward.

One the road again

I'm back on track again and it feels good. I had a goal of losing 4 lbs this week and I lost 6.4 lbs instead. I was off plan for a couple of months and it's not uncommon for my first week to be a big lose (water and stuff). I exercised 3 times this week. Not as many days as I wanted but it's a start. I'm still trying to figure out a good schedule for that. I'm NOT a morning person so that just doesn't work for me. Thanks for your comment! I am totally a salt person as well. I think my food list speaks to that seeing as how few sweets there were on there. Good luck with your journey...it looks like you are doing great so far!

Thanks SO much for the comment! It means a great deal to me. I was feeling a bit panicked, but I know because I weigh myself daily, that I can go up and down 3 lbs in a day, so I shouldn't worry too much.

Welcome Tonya!

I know exactly what you mean by "I loathe exercise", I thought I did, too. For a long time. But guess what: you don't. You just haven't found the right type which is so much fun for you that you don't even notice you are exercising. Find out about it, and you will know what I mean.

For me it was bellydancing - at 240 lbs. I heard the music four years ago and just couldn't stop dancing. I haven't lost much weight since then but I have become so much fitter and more energetic.
