About Me:
I am 28. I teach 7th grade science. I am happily married to the love of my life, Raul.

I am an overweight food-addict and have the goal of changing my thinking from food to life. I believe that losing weight and a healthy lifestyle is a process and not just a short-term goal. At one point, I weighed 300 lbs, lost 85 lbs and then after I got married, I gained most of it back. Now I am at 270 lbs and want and need to change now forever.

06/08/2009: 265.5 lbs (-4.5 lbs)
06/15/2009: Vacation to California & Baja
06/22/2009: 265.5 lbs (-0 lbs/-4.5 lbs total)
06/29/2009: 262.2 lbs (-3.3 lbs/-7.8 lbs total)

Here are my goals:
*Judge my progress by how I feel everyday, not a scale.
*Be accountable about food everyday
*Work out because it helps my body. Not because I want to. Because I don't want to.
*Read books that help me understand my problems with food.
*Blog and comment often to keep it real.
*Eat balanced meals (protein, fat, carbs)
*Eat organic more often
*Take out the processed, high fructose corn syrup, trans-fat, preservatives, hormone-disrupting foods from my life.
*Eat every 3-4 hours.
*Do not eat after dinner (6-7pm)
*Do things I want to in life without my weight holding me back (since I'm not keeping track of my exact weight, this should be easy, right?)

Highest weight: 300 lbs
Weight when I started BTL (2nd time around on 06-01-09): 270 lbs

Accomplishments- I have found a Pregnancy Balance!

Accomplishments:

1. No eating after 7pm*** (I contribute this to my success!)
2. Eating snacks often (every few hours)
3. Calorie count is between 2500-3000 daily. It seems high to me still, but my body says it's just right!
4. Maintained my weight- wahoo!!!

So, I've found a balance. I have been at 257.8 lbs for almost a month, and if you check my history after finding out I was pregnant, my weight was 257.4 lbs and dropped 4 pounds, but now it back up. So, I think the 2500-3000 calorie… Continue

Accomplishments for last week!

Accomplishments:

1. No eating after 7pm
2. Calories in a better range (most days 2500-2600)
3. Exercised lessened to only 40% of walking goal.

I LOST WEIGHT! (or didn't gain as much last week as I thought I did!) While I do need to bump up my exercise more (goal for this week), I think I am finding my calorie balance for pregnancy that I so very much need. So excited about this!

Lowest weight during pregnancy: 253.4 lbs

Accomplishments for last week!

Accomplishments
1. Exercised 60% of cardio goal.
2. Exercised 20% of strength training goal.
3. Stopped eating before 7pm on 6/7 days.
4. Getting fruits, veggies, and calcium everyday.

Unfortunately, with the previous week's overeating (ranges from 2800-4000 calories), I gained about 6 lbs last month. I knew there were only so many days I could eat like that and not see damage....... Accomplishments? and Food relapse

So..... I have been eating WAY too much. I am still tracking it and intend on eating less. But, every since Labor day weekend, my eating has been excessive. I am eating about 3000-3200 calories a day. Ashamed? Yes. Probably part of the reason I didn't post. I know I've gained too, but I haven't been looking at the scale recently. And it's been hard to exercise this past week too, things with school took over.

Hi Tanie! Thank you SO MUCH for your support on that last post. I especially appreciated your advice on hanging on to as many pieces as I can; it helped me see that I am really only in a slump in one area--exercise. Well, that's a lie. It would be one and a half areas since I've stayed close to my calorie goals, but the food I've been choosing isn't the greatest. You helped me regain focus and see what's going right. Thank you!

Listen to you, keeping me on track! I guess I should post another blog, huh? I had a really tough month with my house flooding and my moms illness....I kinda lost it there for a while! I've been on track again for a few days and feeling better. I started a WW online challenge to help motivate myself--"Smaller then Santa by Christmas", and 110 people have joined.....so I feel like I'd better do it!
