Where are you headed in the mission field? My husband and I did a short term (2 wk.) in Italy 3 years ago. It was so fun and a time of growing for me. We did concerts in piazzas along the eastern coast of Italy (and I was 6 months pregnant).

Thank you so much for your thoughts on "Jealousy". My sister and I spent the morning together with our two littlest ones and we had a good time. I have a hard time fitting in prayer, but I know that is the most important thing I can do right now. I really like your suggestions about saying 2 nice things. I will try and do that. You really helped me with this, thank you. I LOVE Chistian artists. I only listen to the christain radio station, and as I mentioned before, I sing on the worship team at our church. It has given me the identity I had lost when I became a mom.

Needing to Lose...

A little about me right now I am 35.5 years old, I have 3 children the youngest only 9 months old. I am currently still nursing so am limited a bit in how drastic I can be in cutting calories but soon - we are in the process of weaning.

My weight history - I was very skinny as a child so I know that I am not big boned! I started gaining weight the summer before 3rd grade when I found TV and food became a bit of a friend and have kept putting weight on since. I was always one of the large girls. Though now when I look back at those photos I realize that if I would have just started exercising and eating right I would have been fine. I reached 200lb in college. I remember thinking if I hit 200lb I will just die. Now I am closer to 300lb than 200 and I feel like saying the same thing.

I have hovered between 235 and 259 for about 7 years then with this last baby right at the end I went up to 285 - I have been hanging out at 272 for about 3 months and I could just gag! It can always get worse can't it! I hated being 255 and now I would love to be back there!

I did WW points for about 2 weeks doing great then went on a vacation and just haven't gotten into the grove. I have great plans at night for how I will start again in the morning and great plans in the morning to do great then the first snack time for my kids hits and I fall.

I need to get back on the old bike and try again.

My goal - is to get to my goal weight - which is 155 for WW. My ideal weight is 145. I can see myself at this weight and I like it. I like how it will feel! My skinny sister right now is at 165 and to be honest I would love for once in my life to be smaller than her. But I know I am a long way from 165 - I'd like that size too. To be honest I would settle for weighing less than my husband who is about 230 lbs. 200 right now is my goal I need to loose 72 pounds to hit that goal. I would like to hit that by next June.

Missionary Boot Training

Week Two - Tuesday

Hello everyone - the weekend has flown by and here on DAY 9 - I think I need a drill sergeant to bark orders at me. So I will fall in line! Ha. We had different activities this weekend. Monday was wet and then hot and humid! UGH! - Translation - I did the 8 mins but nothing else. Today I did my 8 min and rode to the Lib. and back for story time - about a mile in all. Tomorrow - I'll do the 8 mins, probably walk to the swim park and then ride my bike to my daughter's gymnastics lesson - round tri… Continue

Day Five

The best thing I did today was the 8 min leg exercises. I was so tired today from being up too long with the computer last night. Tonight I went scrapbooking so am up late tonight as well. Wanted to update my daily notes. The worst thing I did was not watch my portions and eat too much meat what I didn't do yesterday I did today. I do notice if I don't sleep well I tend to not eat well. Getting my energy from eating food - gives me a boost I think - to keep going. It was a long day on not much s… Continue

Missionary Boot Training! Day Two - Four

Well so far so good. It has been hot and muggy here, but I have done at least eight minutes a day of my eight min workouts - I have also rode my bike every day except Wednesday - when the sky looked like it would down pour any minute. I've done better with not snacking everyday - drinking water helps a lot and I am trying to drink a 16 oz glass of water before and after every meal. I do well with breakfast but not so much. Today we had company and grilled brats and hamburgers. Usually I would ha… Continue

Missionary Boot Training! Day One

Last night I turned the alarm on to wake up at 6:00 am then about 15 minutes later I turned it off. So my initial plan of biking to the YMCA didn't pan out, but I did my 8 minutes in the morning of leg exercises - and then the kids and I went for about a 2.5 mile walk to a few parks - with a friend. Then I did the other 8 minutes in the morning ab exercises. I need to pick my son up from his Discovery Canada class at 4 so I am going to bike to pick him up it will be a little over a mile by the t… Continue

My Plan as of today July 17, 2008

As the scale inches down - my plan has been to exercise more and be mindful of portions. I have also been trying to drink a lot more water which is helping. Though this week I have been eating too many snacks. Anyway my plan:

In a perfect world -
Get up at 6 am and do two 8 min in the morning routines then at 6:30 ride my bike to the YMCA - it is about a mile away and there lift weights. Then ride my bike back and keep busy with the kids and some part-time work. Then maybe work out at night a f… Continue
