202.2

I was on Cloud 9 the past few days, since, not a day after posting here wondering if I'd reach my 2009 goal of going under 200, I did it. On Monday night, after working out, I dropped to 199.8 and it was a sight to behold. Tuesday and Wednesday I maintained a 199.0, which made me think I might actually sustain this weight. Alas, I went out last night for dinner to celebrate my best friend's swearing in to the Bar, and today I am 202.2 after working out (203.4 before). Ugh.

I'm not going to beat… Continue

201.2

I didn't know how tall I was. Now it all seems to make sense, but at the time it was shocking. At the doctor to get a cold checked out, I asked her to measure me, and the result was 5'8.5". I guess all those years I told people I was between 5'8" and 5'9" got scrambled somewhere along the way; then I started telling people I was around 5'9", and then that I was between 5'9" and 5'10". You can see the trajectory. I'm only a little bit shorter than I thought I was, but it makes a big difference wh… Continue

207.2

The scale's been good to me the last couple of days, though I think that might change since tonight I went crazy on some yummy white pasta and risotto made by a real Italian at a birthday party. I immediately regretted it. Not because of what it was that I ate, but how much. My "full" sensor is totally broken. It has no power against my eyes and my taste buds.

I know that when I do stuff like this, it ends up adding a week to whatever progress I've been making. You'd think that'd be enough moti… Continue

208.4

After a week of steady weight, two pounds just came off with a wallop. Does anyone know why that happens? It always surprises me, the morning after a day I don't work out (I took yesterday off for the first time in a week), and then I lose weight. Bodies are funny things.

So, not only did I reach my next goal of going under 210, but I also came within a pound of losing 10% of my starting weight. I noticed those of you who do Weight Watchers talk about this (I've never done it), and I thi… Continue

Hang in there - the daily scale is always deceiving. You are going to be in the 100's soon - keep up the workouts. You are doing great!

I'm a scale lover myself--so no need to explain to me. I actually think weighing every morning helps me because it's insane to see how much the scale can change day in day out. Almost humorous actually. It helps me take it LESS seriously.

I love No More Trouble Zones! But since I also don't have the time in the morning for the whole thing, I just do the first 4 or 5 circuits, or I may skip over one of them to move ahead. I like to think of it as a build-your-own workout depending on…

In regards to Erin's post, I also have a bad lower back. I found that the 30DS did not affect my back (nor the other way around at all). Beginning in Level 2, there are several plank position exercises, especially the cardio ones, that I was concern…

About Me:
After a lifetime of failing at short bursts of dieting and gym memberships gone unused, I decided my life had to change for good this summer--but on my own terms. There'd be no nutritionist, no trainer, no workout partner--no one I could blame if I ultimately failed at whatever my goals were. I picked up a copy of the Sonoma Diet, which taught me how to understand food and what it does to the body. And I've been doing 20 minutes of cardio and strength DVDs every day. I've been feeling like blogging through these changes in my life, that it would be a wonderful complement. So I'm thrilled to be here.

Plan of Choice:
High Fiber, Other
Workout Philosophy:
I stay active doing everyday activities, I'm a walk-a-holic, I'm new to exercise
