About Me:
I am a 26 year old food lover and high school teacher from Vancouver, BC, Canada. Growing up, my parents owned a Chinese Food restaurant and instead of getting a babysitter, I was looked after at the restaurant when I wasn't in school. I really attribute this kind of upbringing to my weight issues since the early years of my life. Always chubby, and oldest of four I am the only one who is overweight. I think for the longest time I just blamed it on being "big boned" but what does that really mean? It's time to stop making excuses for myself and start DOING something about it.


I am 5'2" and 155lbs. Goal: 120lbs.
Goal date: December 2009


I joined Blog to Lose in hopes of connecting with others who are on the same journey to share stories, vent, bitch, and support one another to finally win this battle. Please leave comments and read my blogs as it helps me keep up with blogging to lose!


NOTE: I've been a member of blog to lose for probably a year now.. and unfortunately, was off of this thing for a long time and gained 10 pounds... now I have even more to lose..... this is really depressing so I hope I'll be able to gain some more confidence in FINALLY getting to my goal.

I went to Yoga 11 times in January and this week alone, I went 4! So I know I'm doing fairly well with this whole, every other day practice of Yoga.

SYTYCD was so much fun... being 6th row, we made a sign with Nico's name on it and he TOTALLY pointed at us during the show.. made my heart melt!

My fiance is finally back next Sunday! I can't wait because I really need his help to motivate me on days I'm not doing yoga. I find yoga is helping me become more flexible and toning me up but not helpi… Continue

awesome back bending today

i had the best yoga session so far today... i was really pushed to my limits on certain postures.... couldn't hold as long as i wanted in standing bow but my back bend was really deep today and so was my half moon! WOO HOO!!! it felt really great and i was sad that i didn't have a friend witness it (usually I go with someone)

no progress

I will now perform the walk of shame..

my last post was on new years eve and i feel terrible for not regularly posting like i had wanted (was also part of my new years resolution... talk about not even getting that one started!!)

my weight has maintained itself.. no gains, no losses..... kind of in a state of nothingness...

two days of bikram's yoga in a row!

i'm very proud of myself because i managed to go to bikram's yoga (this incredibly challenging form of yoga where you are in a HOT room like 30 degrees celsius doing yoga poses for 90 minutes) two days in a row! i found that i've been really busy this holiday which is why i haven't been keeping up with my regular posting... another thing that i don't quite understand is the gain i've been seeing on my scale... it doesn't seem to make sense to me because if anything, i've been more physically act… Continue

Wow how weird, I'm also 25 and around 145 lbs. And I'm the eldest of 5 and hope to get down to 130 by end of June and 120 by July. I'm trying a low fat, low carb, high fiber kinda diet. I used to take Yoga and it really changes you...not just into a pretzel but also spiritually you become more at peace with yourself. I tried pilates but it's not as calming and elegant---especially when your tush is in the air w/ your legs over your head and a squished double chin.

Thanks for the thoughts! I know some of it came down to the fact that they had two snow days before the final, so some of them I'm sure didn't study while school was out. If they had been in school to have the daily reminders and the days of studying in class, I think the scores would have been much higher. Plus, to look on the bright side, my students had the highest scores out of all the honors classes (all the 9th grade English teachers give the same final).

I dream about Edward at night...lol...seriously, I finished the first book on like Thursday night and I JUST NOW finished New Moon and I'm about to start Eclipse and I dream about him at night, lol...and a group of us are going to see the movie tonight and I can't wait!!! Ahhh why is he soo dreamy? Melts my heart!!!

Also, I DO NOT THINK Vicky could EVER win Biggest Loser! I'm going with Michelle...at least I WANT her to win. Though I'd be happy with Heba too...she didn't really bother me too much. I just think Michelle faced the most and grew the most through the experience so I'm rooting for her! I can't wait to see the results tomorrow!!!

Corrupt. LOL. I think that might be putting it nicely. It's almost a bit of a turnoff from the show how messy it's become. I like the show without all the drama. So got any great recipes planned to make for your friends?

sorry it took me so long to get back to you on this....it's been nuts. The name of the tea is called...Nature~SM Tea. (Triple Leaves Brand) and I find it at Superstore in the aisle with all the international/oriental foods. There are different strengths and if it's something you have never used I suggest that you start with something MILD. I have extra strength right now but usually have mild on hand as well. *There is no caffeine, no chemical additives, no harmful side effects. You don't add tea or sugar - drink it straight!

Yeah P90X is 6 days a week as well, although admittedly, I sometimes take 7-8 days to do a week's worth of workouts. I think it's the same company (BeachBody) that does Silm in 6 as well. It's definitely hardcore, but since I know you worked with a trainer this summer, it's basically like having a trainer everyday!
