About Me:

I love my family! And I love to travel!
I have 3 great children, daughter Patti is 25 and a travel nurse currently on assignment in NYC. Son Rick is 21, full time college student and son Steven is 19 and planning on attending the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) in Napa Valley Ca next year. I have been a stay at home Mom forever, but now they are all grown up and gone :( I really miss the days when they were little, it went by way too fast. We are a really close family so I still see them often and talk to them several times a day.
I never had a weight problem until I quit smoking. It will be 2 years next Valentine's Day (go me!) I actually lost weight for the six weeks I was on Chantix, to me it's a miracle drug. I had smoked for over 30 years, yikes! Now, I feel as though I have always been a non smoker. No cravings, no urges, nothing. But a few months after I quit, I noticed I was getting 'plump'. I should have called a halt right then but I didn't. It's been almost two years now and I feel as though I needed those two years to adjust to becoming a non smoker. I have joined the local YMCA, and I am going to be better than ever! My husband gets to retire in 3 years (at age 49!) and we plan to travel and I am going to get back in awesome shape!
PS I am really shy, but I am working on that

Florida, Here I Come!

Well, it sounds like a great vacation, right? Well, sort of! My Mother (at 82!) is having her hip replaced. She is doing that at her winter home instead of here because frankly, she just can't stand it any more. She has been putting it off for years and I don't really know why. So she is scheduled for the 19th. I am going down on the 17th, and will stay till March 7th. She should be fine by then!

Challenging Myself for the Remainder of January

I know I am not alone in saying that January is my LEAST favorite month. The Holiday Season was so wonderful that it makes this month feel even more depressing. The frigid cold, gray days don't help any! I have been sick the last 10 days and on mega doses of antibiotics so I should feel better but I don't yet. But the pity party ends today!

Heading to NYC to Finish My Christmas Shopping!

I have been really hoping to make it back to the City at Christmas time! But the Holidays really aren't a great time for 'extras', budget-wise.
