Awe, I'm sorry to hear that this weekend was so rough for you! Hang in there. I'm with you on tracking all of the food...it makes the scale more bearable somehow knowing that I can better predict my weight based on my food journal.

I had a tootsie roll (SUGAR) today and thought of your post from yesterday when I found myself reaching for another. Said no and moved on to a sliced cucumber instead. Stopped the snacking at that. So, thanks again for yesterday's post!

hey there. It was SO tough... for me, eating with the hubby on weekends was comforting and our bonding time... so, I was resistant to give that up... plus I have trouble saying "no" or putting my needs first... so, I was scared to do that... when I honestly looked at my weekend eating, I realized I was way too lax about things. Maybe one meal can be our bonding time, not the entire weekend. I was kind of using the hubby as a scapegoat too... my excuse to go off plan.

My approach was to plan one meal out with the hubby, and the rest of the time try to cook our meals... I tried to plan a couple of weekend meals I was really excited about--maybe even more excited than I was about eating out. I guess I was trying to be more structured on the weekends.

I also tried to be excited about my weekday food too. With those extra points, I added back in foods I had taken out of my diet cause they were high in points (peanut butter, nuts and string cheese, etc). I also planned yummy dinners and lunches for the weekdays. Guess on the weekdays I was trying be less structured...

The one thing that helped me was to get used to the idea that we can eat separate things, but still bond. We eat together, but most of the time we eat separate things... took me a long time to be okay with that.

Hang in there. You can do it. I am just now getting started. I have been putting this off much too long and now I have a very long road ahead of me. Working on a plan to loose all this weight. Going swimming today. This is the only exercise that I really enjoy. I am committed to staying in the pool at least 1 hour today. Now most of that is just playing around - not hard fast swimming. I have a confession......

So......

Question on clean eating.....

I have been looking into this more and want to get more comfortable with WW, but am realizing how addicted I am to sugar!

Can anyone tell me (and I know the answer I am pretty darn sure), but sweeteners such as splenda are totally out of the question, right?

What do you "clean eaters" use for sweetener to cut down on the calories? I tried just using cream in my coffee today and I caved! I had to add sweetener but yet I know those chemicals in my body aren't good!

Any suggestions?

Saturday's food journal

First off, I lost 2 lbs! I am ecstatic as I had been stuck in this rut where I would try and say I was following program but was being very lax on journaling, drinking water, choosing good choices, etc. So yay!

Dividing up the flex points!

So this week I tried something new - I made a conscious effort to not blow thru my flex points on the weekend and envisioned myself having 5 extra points each day and voila! It has been fabulous! I feel like I am (finally) working the program the way I am supposed to and am satisfied! Most weeks I would be out of extra points by Wed. and hungry! So we'll see this Saturday at weigh in but I am feeling good!
