We moved to a 6 acre virgin tract of land (it had only been disked) Christmas 2007. We have 4 hogs nearing maturity (July-August). I've lived in Arkansas all of my life, but Little Rock for 23 years in a very urban environment. We've been "countrified" for 9 years now starting out with maybe 1/2 acre lot. We had a really nice chicken coop for several years that I plan to resurrect over here soon. I have banties on their way that I will put in a chicken tractor for now..We have 6 cats including 4 kittens, a dog, and a parrot. I am very interested in living off of the land as organically as possible, simple living and off the grid living. My husband built this house with the capacity for solar panels and my goal is to get a starter system to tie in. We have yet to build a good fence (our next project) so the goats are on hold for a little while. I think that I want Boers, but I would like at least one Nubian or Lamancha for milk. I love making soaps ( a skill I learned from my country Grannie when I was a kid). I have 2 children Olivia age 9 ( an aspiring ballerina), and Michael (age 13 months), a daddy's boy. I love to travel and plan on taking these 2 on many adventures this summer. Good luck today and remember ..One Day at a Time!
Hi Kim..thanks for having the recipes (I'm doing WW too). I definitely a chocolate addict. We live on a small farm also and hope to include goats soon.
