You inspired me with your post... I finally took the dive and bought Naan... made Spanish Style Pizzas. Check them out on my blog! Pictures and recipe! Thanks for inspiring my new found love!

Good job on keeping up with WW/AA hahaha... hopefully it'll feel less and less like AA. Have a great "Independence day"!

What a week! I've managed to still go to WW meetings since the at work program quit. Only thing is that the meetings are in a church and it feels more like an AA meeting without the alcohol. I heard about how low-in-points this grilled KFC chicken i…

Why didn't I write this post? If you were in Alabama, I would ask you to meet me for a beer so we could talk about it. Seriously - the summer house parties are great and tossing a few back and letting go for a night is mentally healthy for some peop…

Awesome! I'm definitely going to have to try this! I'm thinking some grilled chicken breasts, some hot sauce, FF Mozz cheese for a "Buffalo Chicken Wing" style pizza!

Yes. Boboli is 3-pts for 1/8 of the 12" pizza crust. Naan is 3-pts for half of a 10".

Is the Naan "cheaper" in points than a boboli? Just curious.

Profile Information

About Me:
At my heaviest, I was 320-lb. That was in 2003. Since then I lost 100-lb and gained a little back. I never have been a "healthy weight" (according to BMI). In January, like so many others, I decided that 2009 was the year. We started a WW @ work program and things are looking good. I am on a good pace and I have started exercising (spin class) and I actually enjoy it for the first time in my life.
Plan of Choice:
Weight Watchers
Workout Philosophy:
I'm a gym rat ALL the way

Togas, KFC, and Celebrating Independence

What a week! I've managed to still go to WW meetings since the at work program quit. Only thing is that the meetings are in a church and it feels more like an AA meeting without the alcohol. I heard about how low-in-points this grilled KFC chicken is and I'm thinking about giving it a try. I imagine, like most "healthy" fast-food things, it is probably either really small or tastes bad. Ahhhh yes, and 4th of July is coming up. Not to get too political....BUT, it is funny how we don't call it Ind… Continue

I actually Enjoy Meetings

They started WW at Work program at my office in February. I have always followed the plan but never went to meetings. I only joined because the ladies in the office were motivated by my loss so they wanted me there to support them. I found that I really enjoyed the meetings. It may be that we have a great leader, but I think it is more than that. The meeting helps me reset my focus for the week. Seeing other peoples ideas and successes makes you motivated to keep going. They always tell you that… Continue

Boil a Few & Drink a Few... Crawfish Season is in Full Swing

It is always a challenge to not get carried away at crawfish boils. There is just something about standing around outside n the Springtime drinking a bunch of beer while waiting for the pot to get just right. Fortunately, the crawfish aren't high in points (about the same as lobster). But, when the boil starts at 2PM and the drinking ends at 2AM, there are a lot of foamy, intoxicating calories being taken in. At the risk of sounding like a drunk, it never seems like anyone talks about how alcoho… Continue

Giving up Artificial Sweeteners

This is my first blog ever! Hooray for me.

So I gave up artificial sweeteners this past December (08). It was easier than I thought it would be. Diet soda was the toughest thing to kick. At first I drank a lot of tea with stevia in it but then I just switched to water mostly. Lite yogurt is tough too because they always contain aspartame or sucralose. Even so, I have managed to be artificial sweetener free for over three months. Big whoop huh? Well, it may be my imagination, but it seems like t… Continue
