That is some seriously healthy food! Good job with making good choices all day. One day at a time, right? You CAN do this. :)

Go for the TRI!!!!
July 13
Slow and steady is always the best way to return to running. My biggest mistake was always doing too much too soon. I found the greatest success, and least amount of injury building up mileage slowly. Good for you for getting back into it! The first…

Do the Tri! I wanted to do one too but my husband is running a marathon the same day it was scheduled. Maybe next year! You should though! Take some swim classes and youll do fine.

Starting WW weight-184.8 lbs. (August 2007)
Goal Weight:135 lbs. (ww goal achieved December 2008)
Current Weight: 145lbs
Personal Weight Goal: 130lbs
Dream Goal Weight:125 lbs

I have struggled with my weight more than half my life. In August 2007, I joined weight watchers for one last attempt at losing the weight once and for all. Over a period of about a year I managed to lose fifty pounds. During this time I also became more active and began running. I have run in a number of races over the past year and achieved one of my goals of running in a half marathon.
Keeping the weight off is proving to be a challenge. I need to get back on plan, and start tracking again. I am hoping to lose the weight that I have gained and maybe a few extra pounds. Most of all I just want to feel in control again.

Back in Weight Loss Mode(weekly weigh in results)
Week One- 147 lbs.
Plan of Choice:
High Fiber, Weight Watchers, South Beach
Workout Philosophy:
I stay active doing everyday activities, I'm a Running Fanatic

Contemplating...Trying a Tri

I've been toying with the idea of doing a sprint triathlon next year. There is a new pool/gym scheduled to open this fall in the town where I live, which would make it more convenient to get some swimming practice in. This is the one area of doing a triathlon that scares me the most, because I have absolutletly no technique. I would have to seek some help from a swim coach or something. I already run so that would just be a matter of keeping up with it and I'm quite comfortable biking as it is m… Continue

Great Day on Plan!

Every day is a new day right? Well I had another chance to start over, and I had a great day. I'm getting a bit tired of starting over every week and not getting anywhere, but I'm going to keep at it! One of these weeks I WILL CHOOSE NOT TO ERASE ALL OF MY HARD WORK AND BEST INTENTIONS WITH ANOTHER STUPID BINGE(S) I really need a good, week long streak of planned, healthy, on track eating. I can do this!

Food Today:

2 egg omelette with mushrooms, onions, and a sprinkle of cheese
strawberries

Back on Track- Day One

Well I made to a ww meeting yesterday with my kids in tow. We were there a little too early though. We sat around for about 15 minutes prior to the meeting starting, so the kids were starting to get fidgety. About ten minutes into the meeting I was not impressed with the leader. I guess I'm a bit picky. I love my old leader and miss her now that she's retired. I guess I just have to feel a connection with the leader. At the very least it would be nice to have someone with a bit of enthusiasm. So… Continue

Getting back to a meeting!

Well I decided to get my butt back into a weight watchers meeting. I haven't consistently gone to weight watchers since hitting my goal back in December and it has been a bit challenging. Up until about a month ago I have been maintaining between 137lbs and 141 depending on the day. My goal weight is 135lbs. Suddenly my weight has really started jumping. It's been a combination of things. Up until the beginning of March I had been training for a half marathon. The fact that I was being consisten… Continue

I'll just start tommorow....sound familiar to anyone?

I'm really happy to be back blogging again, even though I sometimes have a hard time thinking of anything truly important to say. I really enjoy the support, encouragement, and kind words amongst everyone on BTL. It is great to talk to people that are going through the same ups and downs. Many people in my life can't really relate in the same way that people here can.

I decided to come back to BTL because I know that I need a supportive community in order to be successful. I have at least 10 lb… Continue

Jen..thanks for the comment! Its so true....it feels better to be fit and healthy than just skinny. You can be skinny and not be healthy. Ive never been here before physically and I love it! I love exercising, I love eating healthy...I love it all. I have no desire to be the old me..this feels too good! Looks like you run too! What a crazy run in the snow!

Thanks so much for your encouragement Jen! Training is going well, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that walking is getting REALLY old!! LOL I keep thinking of the 3Day though, as so many people have told me what an amazing event it is! I can't wait!

Your schedule sounds crazy for sure. You are on the front lines right now, working hard for your family, and it is commendable! I think it is neat that you recognize the little things, like the blessing of you and your husband finding new respect for each others' efforts at home, etc...(from your post).

To answer your question about me teaching again...I don't really want to teach in a classroom again. I loved it, but if I do get to choose, I'd like to go back to school and become a speechie...(Speech Language Pathologist). I think it would be so much more fun to work closely with a small group with a specific focus. We'll see where life takes me. As for now, I have kids at 15, 11, 9, 6, and 4--and am staying busy with them. :)

I am a teacher too, or I was....:) I taught for 5 years and took an "early retirement" when my third was born. Not sure if I'll go back to it or not when my kids are older. It was fun, but things are so much different now! Anyway, who do you cook for in the evenings (besides your boys!)? Have a great night.

I was wondering if there was anyone else from Alberta on the site, it's nice to see that there is! Next week is Stampede up here too, which is always tough on the willpower for me. There's free pancakes everywhere! It's the biggest diet thwarting ploy in existence. The zoo has added a couple of cafeterias that have some more healthy options, which is great. I can't say much about Calaway Park though, I haven't been there in years! I hope you guys have fun :)
