About Me:
I am a 32 year old wife and mother of a 4.5 and 2.5 year old boys. I would love to lose 20+ pounds but know that it will not be easy as I have been trying to lose these 20 pounds for the last four years. I am a roller coaster.... I am really good for a few months with exercising, watching what I eat and drink and then down I go faster than you can say STOP!

I am hoping that this will be my last time riding this roller coaster.

Holiday Trimmings

Yesterday after work I went to the Y to workout. (Side note: I work at this Y part time) As I scanned in I noticed a scale at the front desk and realized that Holiday Trimmings was starting. You weigh in and then you have a half way weigh in and then after the New Year weigh in. If you maintain or loose you are signed up for some sweet prizes. So as I was walking to the the treadmills I was telling myself why are you not doing this. Maybe this is what you need to give you that extra push.... so… Continue

Short Post

Well WI this morning was a good one. I am down 1 pound.... a pound at a time right?! I was actually very surprised to see that considering I didn't try worth a darn this past week. I can't remember the last time I was at the Y or did any exercise other than walking like normal. My goal this week is to hit the Y 3 times and do some DVD workouts as well.

Have a great weekend and happy WI!

No Excuse

That is all I can say. There is no reason on why I have once again fallen off the wagon and gained four pounds in four weeks. I can't believe I did it yet again and I now weigh more than I did when I started BTL. I know I need to mentally get myself together. I know we will have "that" kind of day every once in a while and I don't feel you need to deprive yourself of things. But.... this is craziness. I am going to have a mental wellness day today and I am hoping by the end of the day I will hav… Continue

Better

I finally started to feel better Monday this week. This flu/cold totally kicked my butt this time around. I still have a cough but I feel so much better than the last two weeks. Last night I had my first work out in what feels like forever. I ran a mile on the treadmill and walked the rest of my 25 minute workout. I had to have a short workout because my kids were in the Y's daycare and they hadn't had dinner yet. Can I tell you how great it felt just to run that mile? I can't wait to get to the… Continue

Sick sick and sick

Sorry for the dry spell. I was out of town last week and this week I am sick. Flu sick. Today is my first day back to work since last Thursday. I did not weigh in this morning because to be blunt I just didn't feel like it. I have not been tracking my food or exercising for the last week. This flu is kicking my butt! I am going to give myself one more day to rest and I am hoping to get back to the gym tomorrow.

Hi Jen! I am still amazed that I have a baby. It seemed to happen so fast?! I spent the last few weeks of my pregnancy on bedrest, and then before I knew it, my doctor said, "it's time"--I was only 37 weeks! I spend most of my day just staring at him in amazement :~)

Hope all is well with you!

Hey Jen... I DID love kayaking! I tell ya, if I lived on a lake like Sally does...I'd have to buy a kayak! It was so much fun...AND a great upper body workout!

Not at all. I have found it to taste a little salty and have been considering tampering with the recipe to make it less salty tasting. There isn't any additional salt in it though, so I am not sure why!

1/4 cup of natural peanut butter
1/4 cup soy sauce (I use lite and less sodium)
2 Tbsp of lemon juice
2 tsp sesame seed oil
2 tsp fresh ginger, grated
1 Tbsp honey
1 tsp garlic powder
pinch of hot pepper flakes

Heat over medium heat until bubbling, stirring constantly. When its finished, either let it cool and refrigerate, or pour over already cooked chicken (I poach mine) and place under the broiler for 5 to 7 minutes.

I was thinking to sub out a portion of the soy sauce with a little water to get the salty flavor down, but I haven't done it yet. It's definitely not high in sodium though. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for the comment! Boot Camp is 5 days a week for 4 weeks. I am in the middle of the 3rd week so I am almost done. I will try to stay away from Qdoba (at least for a while)!! I hope the EA Active is going well.
