"The scale is only a tool to help measure the weight loss, but it isn't a tool that measures my success." Thanks for that. I'm going to make a sign out of it and post it in the bathroom!

I love NSV's - they keep me grounded and help me to refocus. Yesterday at lunch a friend of mine was sitting across from me and she was looking at me intently. I looked up at her because I could "feel" her staring. She says, "How much more weight H…

A Little Bit About Me

I am a well rounded person that loves people, most especially family and friends. I am easy going, fun to be around. I am very sensitive. I have learned to try and put "me" first, that took me a long time to learn as the needs of others often came before my own. This enables me to be a happier person and in turn I am able to take care of my family and friends. I am a wife and a mother of three beautiful children; a boy and two girls.

I have been trying to lose weight since my late twenties, after the birth of my first two kids. I have been yo-yo dieting ever since trying everything under the sun. I had successes, but not too long afterwards the weight would eventually creep back on.

I started my weight loss journey in January of 2006. At that time I had 46 pounds to lose. I lost 29 of those 46. I was so ecstatic as I had not been under 150 pounds in I can't tell you how long, and I actually made it to 140 pounds. Because I was feeling so good, I wasn't as careful or as on plan as I should have been so I put back on 17 of the 29 pounds I lost after a year. So here I am in June of 2009 (that's when I started again) ready to get back to my lifestyle change because Weight Watchers really works as long as you stay on plan. I don't know why I veered off into the wrong direction because I never felt hungry or deprived while following the plan. But I'm back, and it's okay that I fell off the wagon because I'm on it again.

I look forward to getting to know many of you, and as always, thanks for stopping by. :-)

Red Lobster...

Went out for lunch with my mom and my kids to Red Lobster. Oh boy! Nothing like a lobster dipped into melted butter -OMG! About the healthiest thing on my plate was the broccoli. :-)

I indulged a little, but it's okay. I've been exercising fairly regularly now, and despite the indulgence I also managed some control. Some of the food I ordered came home with me and there was a time where I would have eaten the entire plate, an appetizer, plus 3 or 4 of the cheese biscuits they serve.

I ate the… Continue

NSV

I love NSV's - they keep me grounded and help me to refocus.

Yesterday at lunch a friend of mine was sitting across from me and she was looking at me intently. I looked up at her because I could "feel" her staring. She says, "How much more weight HAVE you lost?" I say, "Honestly, the scale hasn't really moved in weeks. I've been up and down the same 3 pounds in forever."

She says, "You look like you've lost more weight. You look so thin, your face, your shoulders - I can see your clavicles!"… Continue

I'm down...

1.8 pounds. Granted, same 1.8 of the 3 I have been gaining and losing for WEEKS, but I'll take it! :-)

I am currently at 145.8. I am SO proud of myself because normally I am a daily weigher. I've been reading some of your blogs and see that several of you are STAYING OFF THE SCALE and so I've joined the band wagon. I stayed off the scale until my official weigh in day yesterday.

The first time I did WW I weighed daily, and it didn't bother me. Mainly because I hardly ever showed a gain. But th… Continue

Survived Thanksgiving

I had a pretty active week. I was fortunate enough to have the entire week off and I was SUPER productive. :-) I cleaned my house from top to bottom, reorganized closets and kitchen cabinets, rerranged my little girl's bedroom and gathered things for the yard sale I'm attempting to have this weekend. This took place over the first 3 days of my "vacation". My house looks amazing and feels so "clutter free". Liberating I tell you.

As for Thanksgiving Day, I did stellar if I do say so myself. I ha… Continue

Renewed

Well, it's been a rough couple of weeks. Life in general not so great. Glad to be alive, just wishing there were less problems. :-D

In any event, so frustrated with the whole weight loss journey that I just went off the grid for a little bit. I'm still not at it 100%. Can't find the mojo. Don't have the energy, the strength, the desire or the inclination right now to really do anything about losing weight. I'm trying to get a grip, and I know that I will. I tried to start tracking again this pa… Continue

Thanks for the comment Jeannie! I think sometimes we just don't like to come to the logical/right decision by ourselves and need to hear it from someone else. :-)

Thank you! It was a great run, I impressed myself! :) I had a Zune but invested in an iPod Nano just so I could get Nike+, it was totally worth it for me. I love it! I found an inexpensive refurbished Nano on amazon.com.

Hi Jeannie! Thanks for your support. I bet you are going to have a great WI on Sunday as well. Just go in there and let that scale know who is in charge! So much easier said then done. Have a GREAT weekend and I will look forward to hearing how you made out on Sunday.
