Wow, what a great quote, "The scale is feedback, not failure." I'll definitely have to remember that one. It's great that you recognize things you can do to improve in your daily intake!!

That's great that you have been able to focus on things other than the scale, like the awesome healthy lifestyle you are living! I have to admit I was absoutely scared to death when I started maintenance, but just like you said it really is about mo…

I am both excited and terrified about maintenance mode! I still have 12 pounds to get there, but sometimes I wonder how I'll do - I know what I need to do to lose weight. But I'm such an all or nothing person, I don't know how I'll balance everythin…

I understand all too well. I think we all have those days where we wonder, "Is this really the rest of my life?" And not in that excited, "I love my new lifestyle, rah, rah" way. But like Jen said, it will pass - maybe try on a pair of pants since b…

That is great about your realization. I have often put myself in that same situation and given up, I too am hoping this time is different. Keep it up and you will break through that plateau in no time.

Great post! You will have results soon. All of your hard work will pay off - and like you said, this is a lifestyle change and you have definitely proved, in the face of a plateau, that you are in this for the long haul. Running is great. It helped…

About Me:
I have a daily blog, Facebook account, IM with friends, etc., but I have NOWHERE to discuss my obsessive thoughts on what I'm eating (or not eating) and my newfound love for exercise. I think about both constantly but I can't talk about them 24/7 or my friends will disown me!

I have read Roni's blog for years, and I am thrilled to discover this little community of like-minded people.

Stick to It

I have read on the WW message boards when people celebrate breaking past a plateau. And I have realized that in all my years of yo-yo dieting, I don't think I was ever patient enough to wait out a plateau. I think whenever I reached a plateau in the past, I went off plan knowingly. Of course, I intended to get back on the following Monday - but that Monday would never come for me.

Last week, I blogged about my three-week plateau. It was pretty frustrating. I would weigh myself on Friday, eat we… Continue

Realization

I was so so so excited to lose 27 pounds by Memorial Day (when I saw my parents who hadn't seen me since I started WW). But since then, I have been going up and down the same pound every week. I still counted my points and exercised daily. But here is the kicker... I did not realize I had hit a plateau. Meaning, I did not despair. I did not get down on myself and the program. I did not quit exercising figuring "what is the point?" I did not gorge myself as a way of consoling myself.

What I Love About Losing Weight

Sometimes I need to remind myself why I need to keep myself on track. When I feel too pooped to work out. When I really want that "screw it all" meal. When a pair of pants doesn't fit as well as I'd hoped. I could go on and on.

So here is my (growing) list of all the reasons why I love losing weight:

* my clavicles are emerging - I have missed them
* seeing more of an hourglass figure and less of an apple figure
* my double chin becoming less and less noticeable
* the control I have developed… Continue

New to Blog to Lose

I have been skulking around the Blog to Lose site for a few weeks now. I love reading other people's blog posts regarding their weight loss journeys, as they so often mirror my own frustrations and elations. I am so happy to have a place where I can talk about my weight loss efforts and my growing love for exercise. I feel I have to hold back from constantly talking about both (as I want to), else my friends and family will very quickly tire of my limited conversation topics!

Soooo, a little bi… Continue
