i had six (yes, SIX!) wisdom teeth cut out before they came in all the way (who wants to ruin years of braces!?) and i went out to a concert the next night, completely fine. I probably slept about 30 hours solid after the procedure and then i never…

Shannon- that's so funny! As soon as i get home from the store with new foods i want to try them all at once too! What IS that about?!?! Must be that all or nothing mentality...

That's so cute! I always tell the husband when we have kids i want them to exercise with us so they just see it as part of life. Great plan for the remainder of today! You CAN do it!

Funny- i always wonder how people eat like half a granola bar. what is that?

Such a good point! I always forget that I burn calories in the little things too, so if I do miss a workout I don't beat myself up over it!

Profile Information

About Me:
I'm a 26 year old female. I was overweight most of my life (except for the first five years when i was underweight) until I joined and lost weight on Weight Watchers starting in May 2005. I never reached goal in the program but have reached it since and have hit my personal goal but continue to struggle back and forth with 5 to 10 pounds. Staying at my desired weight is a constant struggle between restricting the things i want to eat and contemplating if it's worth it.
Plan of Choice:
Weight Watchers
Workout Philosophy:
I'm a walk-a-holic

My learning to enjoy exercise "SECRET"...

Lately I've found one of the best things i can do to enjoy exercise is not to focus on it as a weight loss tool. When out walking the dog- i no longer set a time goal or map a route online to figure out exactly how far I've gone. When doing my mat workout at home i no longer make sure it last so many minutes. When doing cardio at the gym i set a goal of 30 mins and challenge myself with speed and incline; but i no longer look at the distance traveled or the calories burned. Since I've stopped mi… Continue

Have I mentioned I LOVE food...

HAHA, I'm sure that's a big "DUH" that's why we're all here. But i mean in more of an exploratory sense. Nothing makes me happier than trying a new restaurant or finding a great new recipe. My husband and i are definitely "foodies", i can count on one hand the number of times I've had fast food in the past 2 years. (In the past 5 years even, I'd say less than 15) I just don't enjoy it. but sitting down to something new and different at a nice restaurant or exploring a new city through the food -… Continue

GOALS

Goals for this week.

Exercise- I'm usually all or nothing on this front. I am going to the gym every day or i'm going not at all/ once a week
1. Gym- 3 times (last night: 1/3) I usually just do cardio at the gym
2. Mat workout- 2 times ( i plan to do this tonite) This is a yoga/ pilates/ physical therapy exercise mix
3. Do not feel feel bad about not working out on your "rest days". What is that even about? (See the all or nothing mindset?) If you push yourself to do too much one week it wont b… Continue

Great weekend...

of halfway trying. SIGH.

Although i had a binge on Friday morning i did a good job of eating reasonable meals from there on out. well within points. Did split some pub grub with the husband on Saturday night (but i hardly think 2 chicken strips and 2 potato skins will kill me) that a reasonable portion of a splurgy food and I'm actually fine with that. I'm even fine with the three mini scoops of Hagen-dazs last night (one each of three flavors- you really don't wanna know how many pints of Hage… Continue

Thought I'd contribute more...

I spend most of my time on here looking around, especially in the last six weeks, while I've been working on losing a gain. I find so many of you very motivational and enjoy reading day to day struggles. (I think it's the same thing that made WW work for me to begin with.)

I'd like to lose about 5 more pounds and then settle into a way of life eating. After losing the majority of my weight in 2005, I started to have problems with binging. (Seems like this happens to a lot of dieters? Maybe why… Continue

I could have walked faster at my faster walk pace for sure. BUT, it was really a mental thing today. Being "mental" is becoming a good thing!

I think 30DS might be rough if you have a bad back. There is a lot of jumping, twisting and plank positioning (push up position). She likes to work multiple areas of the body at once, using weights in the upper body. This makes me nervous for you b/c working different areas at the same time is trickier to do than one at a time. I feel like this could open you up for an injury more easily. I could be wrong, but I think you might want to discuss this with a doctor.
Good luck with your decision!

Thank you for your comment! I knew this would only work if I was completely honest with myself, so I hold nothing back. I wish you the best of luck with your remotivation!
