Results: Today went great. I was able to eat my own lunch, and even had enough points at dinner to have some pumpkin ice cream!! Treats are so good when they're earned and planned for and savored...

So, I didn't blog my planned menu for today, but I did log it in my WW food tracker, so I did have a plan. Unfortunately, it all went out the window when my boss took us out to lunch. The lunch itself wasn't so horrible, but I totally got into the "…

Results: Day 2 went according to schedule and I stayed in my 25 points. It was a stressful day at work, but I stayed away from the candy!!

Yesterday went well, so I'm going to plan out my day again. And the accountability of posting my plan here helps. I'm trying to focus on just one day at a time, build up 14 on-plan days - hopefully by then I'll have kind of gotten my groove back. I…

Results: Everything went according to plan food-wise - I ate NO halloween candy! In a way it was hard, but at the same time it simplified things a lot. Instead of negotiating with myself all day about how I can justify having one more, I just said "…

About Me:

I'm a 23 yr old graduate student who has lost 50 pounds on Weight Watchers. I've hit a stall for the last month or two that I'm trying to get over in order to lose the 40 that I have left to get to goal. I read Roni's blog regularly and it is such an encouragement. I finally decided to follow her lead when she says that blogging was a real help to her in the process of losing. I've always liked to write, so I hope that blogging little updates on how I'm feeling or what I'm thinking will help me to finish what I've started.

PS. Sorry about the creepy blurring out of my face on my profile picture, I'm just kind of paranoid about privacy on the internet. But I wanted to show off my recent side-by-side, comparison picture!

Gaining Momentum days 3 & 4

So, I didn't blog my planned menu for today, but I did log it in my WW food tracker, so I did have a plan. Unfortunately, it all went out the window when my boss took us out to lunch. The lunch itself wasn't so horrible, but I totally got into the "well, the day's blown anyway, what's the point of being good now?" mentality. So I ate dessert, and then some cookies back at the office. But it could have been worse - I ate my planned healthy dinner, and I tracked all my indiscressions and as best a… Continue

Gaining Momentum day 2

Yesterday went well, so I'm going to plan out my day again. And the accountability of posting my plan here helps. I'm trying to focus on just one day at a time, build up 14 on-plan days - hopefully by then I'll have kind of gotten my groove back. I want to get back to where it is relatively easy to stay on plan because I like the way I feel when I eat healthy and I like seeing results on the scale! But for now, I need the structure to just plug along for this one day.

1. Breakfast - cereal, mil… Continue

Recipe for Momentum

I feel like part of my slump is momentum. I can justify slump-like decisions by the fact that I am in a slump. I feel like if I can get a good, solid on-plan day under my belt, it will be easier to get one more. And when I get a week or two down, feel the rewards, see the impact on the scale, the slump will practically be overcome! So here's the step-by-step plan to get through tomorrow:

1. Get up and run first thing. You know the kind of luck you've had trying to do it after work! (one weeknig… Continue

Notes to self at future milestones...

This blog idea is completely stolen from Shannon H. I read her "Some things I wrote when I started this journey..." post and I had tears in my eyes. So here are some things that I want to write to myself at some future milestones:

179:
See, that cursed 180s stall didn't last forever. It started as a plateau, then became a "well if eating healthy isn't working then screw it, I'll just eat whatever" downward spiral. But the really truly admirable thing is that you came out of it - you remembered… Continue
