I wish I didn't feel so guilty

But I do. I wish I could have the "it's the holidays, enjoy yourself and get back on track after" attitude without the accompanying guilt. For 2 weeks now I've been struggling with overeating day after day. Today, I'm back to work after traveling for 4 days. I can't even begin to tell you how much I've eaten over the last 4 days. All I know is that I feel just aweful. Bloated, puffy, sluggish, you name it. I refuse to get on the scale. It would just make me upset.

I'm not throwing in the towel, but......

I'm definitely really struggling everyday. I've been somewhat lax about tracking, I've missed a couple of classes at the gym, and I've been giving in to the tempting treats that seem to be EVERYWHERE! So I have to be honest and say, it will definitely be easier after the holidays. So far so good

Today was day one of the challenging week. I did really well with not snacking at my desk. I went to Body Pump after work and I made a very, low calorie skillet for dinner. Tomorrow's the holiday pot luck at the office. My plans are to spin in the AM, make sure I don't have a morning snack (the pot luck's right at noon) and go to Tabata Training in the evening with my coworker. It's going to be a very challenging week

I've got my company pot luck holiday lunch on Tuesday, and now we've been invited to parties both Friday and Saturday night. Yikes! My plan is to increase my exercise because I REALLY, REALLY want to be able to enjoy yummy holiday treats. I will still try to employ tactics like having a healthy snack before I go, drink tons of water, etc., but I don't want to say no to anything that I really want to eat. LOL...I DID in fact go to Body Pump last night! And I ran/jogged 1.5 miles before class! I was definitely pooped out when I got home! Felt SO good though! Thanks for all your encouragement! You guys are the best!

Hey Dani! So you "like" BP 71? I HATE it! LOL It is really tough! Alot of cardio involved this time it seems! But I will continue to go, otherwise I'd never do my strength training! Plus doing it as a class pushes me much harder than if I would be out on the floor doing my "own thing" with weights! And I so agree about doing things as part of a class! There are about 6-7 of us girls that are ALWAYS at Body Pump and it gets pretty wild sometimes! All the giggling and goofing around! And if you miss a class....you'll be sure to hear about it! Another form of accountability I guess! Works for me! Have a great day hon!

Well, I'm doing this because I've been diagnosed with Stage II Hypertension and my doctor wants me to get the weight off so I can get off the meds. This part is only for 2 weeks. If two weeks of crap makes me feel better and be healthier for the rest of my life, then I'm going to do it :)

If I had to spend two weeks in unpaid training for a job that was going to pay me $100,000.00 a year, I'd do that, too! If you ever asked someone who is pregnant, "Why go through 9 months of bloating, nausea, weight gain, (and all the other gross things that happen)?" I guarantee you they'd say, "Because the rewards are worth it."

The rewards are definitely greater than this piddly two weeks of gagginess.
