I completely understand what you're talking about. For me, living like that totally contributed to my weight problem. You just get so down and adopt the "i don't care" attitude. I love Kris's advice. You gotta clean up your life girl! After that, wo…

Someimes there is nothing better than icing. I am a fan of the rainbow chip, hold the cake.I find nothing gross about it. And I totally understand about the calling from the pantry. Some of the food in my house talks too! Deformed cake tastes just a…

I know just how you feel. I can't count how many times I declined going places or doing things with friends because I thought in my mind that I would stand out like a sore thumb as the "fat" one of the group. It's a hard mind frame to get out of and…

Thanks Sam for asking if I joined ww. I did, toughest part was getting to the meeting. I have done ww before too. For me I wanted a plan and a group to encourage each other. I have done ww online. For me it didn't give me the accountability I needed. For me my wake up call was this. I had went for a mammogram couple weeks ago. All was well. But came home thinking, great so I got this test done and What am I doing to actually be healthy. There is no guarantee for good health, but there are things I can be doing. I think I felt like I was playing Russian roulette. Oh good, nothing is wrong this time. great.. That was my wake up moment. Its tough, there were times this week, I hated it. It is such an emotional thing for me, I did find this week, my triggers to eat are all attached to what is happening in my day and not hunger so much, that I am learning, eat when hungry and satisfied not stuffed!!... take care.. GO For IT!!! Do it for you!!!

Hey Sam! thanks for checking in on me! =) My weekend was great. It was the last of my spring break (boo) but I got to run outside again.

Thanks Sam for all the information..I have a bunch of fertility problems, first my ovaluation is not the right size for pregnancy, and when the follicle do get to the right size my body does not maintain the pregnancy...I have to be on blood thinning medication. Its complicated, but I did go to the website you gave me thanks. Im thinking strongly about the c25k. I might start in April, or after the jillian 30 day shred so that would be in May. I'll let you know what my plans are. Not sure as of yet.

I like C25K a lot so far!! I haven't run in over 3 years either, and it's been a great program for me! You should definitely do it.

Hi Sam, Thanks for the comment last week. Good luck on starting the C25k program. I am going to be doing day 2 tonight so I will be running with you in spirit! One of my goals for this year is to run a full 5k (no walking!) also so keep me updated on your progress and maybe we can cheer each other on.

Hey! Glad my comment lightened your mood a little. On a completely random note--you have the cutest cat *ever*! Makes me miss the kitties I had to leave behind (with my doting ex-housemate, so they're being pampered like nobody's business!). And welcome to the ranks of C25K-ers!

Hey girl!
I just saw your comment about c25k on Rachel's blog. I started (and am going on week 3 day 1 tomorrow) and aboslutely LOVE IT. I think you would enjoy getting back into running. I've never ever been a runner, and still have some issues with it since i'm 243lbs... so if I can get through it, I'm sure you can!

Check it out. I'm finding it a grea way to shed those nasty lbs and give me something to work twoards - my first 5k race at the end of May. =)

Flotsam and Jetsam

Unfortunately, I'm not talking of the two evil eels in the "Little Mermaid" movie. Instead, I'm talking about all the stuff surrounding me. Empty wrappers, dirty bowls, empty glasses...not to mention all the "Stuff" that's just lying around because I haven't done anything about it.

The Phrase Finder defines the two terms as: Flotsam are those items which are floating as a consequence of the action of the sea. Jetsam are those which have been jettisoned by a ship's crew (although that may float… Continue

Icing on the top

I thought I might make some and take them with me when I go visit family this weekend. I just need to figure out what I want to make, cupcake pops or cute Mother's day cake pops...

So, I bought the cake and the tub of i… Continue

Self-Imposed Limitations

I've often heard a saying along the lines of: the things you regret most are not the things you did but the things you did not do.

Lately, I have realized how true that is. There are so many things I regret and they are pretty much all things I didn't do. As much as I "regret" having done stupid things, or times when I was embarrassed, miraculously, those things did not "kill" me as I might once have thought. In fact, some of those things have turned into humorous anecdotes...

However, I regre… Continue

Running the Wheel

I totally feel like a hamster stuck on a little plastic wheel, running, running, running...and when I get off the wheel, I realize I'm in the exact same spot as when I started. Then I go eat, sleep, eat, ponder life, eat...until I eventually decide to get back on the wheel. Then I run, run, run...and when I get off the wheel, I realize I'm in the exact same spot as when I started...

That's how I feel about this whole diet thing. I've been on a diet off and on since I was about 15. The only time… Continue

Commitment

I'm still stuck on this whole idea of starting WW again.

I know I seem like a broken record at this point, but I keep coming back to 1) I'm not losing any weight trying to do it on my own 2) I've tried WW numerous times and it works until I quit 3) Will I be throwing money away by trying it again? 4) Why do I sabotage my weight loss efforts?

The more I think about it, the more I realize it's all about commitment. Do I have the commitment to do what is necessary to lose weight? Do I have the co… Continue
