About Me:
I've struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. I was a chubby kid, a chubby teen and now an overweight adult. Now, with a beautiful daughter and a wonderful husband in the picture, I realize that the three of us deserve more than just some unhealthy foods that satisfy us for a moment. We deserve the best that life has to offer us. I'm beginning to realize that my weight has nothing to do with pregnancy, childhood habits, or taught behaviors and has everything to do with how I feel about myself.

Learning to Love Me

I've been gone for a long while. Things have been busy with work and life in general has just had me feeling stressed and overwhelmed. Because of all that stress, I think I ate the last small little bit of motivation I had. I haven't been to the gym in weeks. I have been eating anything and everything that I want. I feel horrible.

I Want It Now

I've been MIA for a couple of weeks now. In some ways, I'm failing miserably, but in others, I'm really succeeding. My eating has been awful. I haven't been able to kick the soda habit and, instead, have been drinking more. That's making me crave sugar like a crazy woman. On the flip side, I've been exercising a lot more than normal. When I first tried the intuitive eating, I had the same attitude and put on a few pounds, but after awhile I guess I got it out of my system. I started to crave whole foods and noticed better my hunger/fullness, and the scale started going down again. It is really frustrating, and I think will be a lifetime struggle for people like us. In the long run, the health or intuitive eating thing just seems to make more sense than strict dieting!

Thanks for the comment on my latest post. I guess the blood pressure thing is fairly common--trying to not stress out too much about it--kind of a catch-22?! Hard to avoid the very thing that makes it rise!!!

That's horrible that a restaurant will serve that as "meal" for kids and it's even more horrible that there are parents out there who will actually buy it and let their kids eat it (even though I want to eat it right now!).
