Weight-Loss Ticker and Goals

WHAT WENT RIGHT IN 2008?
• I finally hit the 50-pounds-lost mark.
• Attended WW meetings regularly.
• Fit back into a size 12.
• Settled on a mantra that works pretty well for me: "One day — one choice — at a time."
• Started tracking what I eat more consistently.
• My blog has developed quite the following. :D
WHAT STILL NEEDS TO CHANGE?
• I don't get in all my water consistently.
• More movement — I don't exercise as much as I should.
• I tend to forget to take my daily multivitamin.

WHAT I WANT TO CONTINUE IN 2009
• Exercising (I'm thinking about checking into the cost of Curves.)
• Tracking every bite, every day (It's when I don't write it down that I get off track.)
• Losing weight (I want to get to my WW goal weight by June 1 — or sooner!)
WHAT I WANT TO CHANGE
• Letting the Boyfriend influence my food choices (This is the biggie!)
• Eating so much fast food
• My clothing size (I want to fit back into my size 8 jeans!)
• Weight (WW goal is 170 ... personal goal 160)
WHAT I WANT TO IMPROVE ON
• Getting in eight 8-ounce glasses of water (or sugar-free flavored water) a day
• Exercising consistently (I especially need to focus on strength work. I'm not bad at the cardio requirement already. But I need to move more all around. Some weeks I'm good at working out regularly, and others I'm really very lazy.)

I love it when I get a nice surprise at the scale. Glad you found that lost motivation!

I've been hovering about 15 pounds from goal for a year now ... and I'm kind of the same way. I feel OK about myself (pretty good most days) and I think that's why it's taking me so darn long to get the rest of the weight off. But it's not like I ...

Good luck. I'm sure you can do it! Me, I tend to get myself in trouble when I know I'm not checking in ... so I won't be avoiding the scale any time soon.

I've been a blogging fool

... at least I have over at my other blog. Three posts in one day! Here's a link to the last one, a recap of my day. It was a pretty good day ... not perfect, but good. I snuck in a walk (even though it was the last thing I wanted to do in the cold, windy weather) and ate just 28 Points.

The other two posts were a recipe for… Continue

Better late than never

I'm late checking in, but it's better late than never. Yesterday was an OK day, plan-wise. Didn't count Points for dinner, but tried not to gorge myself.

And I had a healthy, small breakfast and lunch before dinner — and a nice, long, brisk walk. 53 minutes, to be exact.

This is short because I'm headed off to do some shopping.

Found this interesting link ...

... and I don't know what to think.

A part of me wants to be outraged that a university is requiring students to have a certain BMI to graduate. (I sure wouldn't have been able to! I was at least 50 pounds overweight when I graduated ... probably more. I avoided the scale back then, so I'm not sure what I weighed. I think I was wearing a 20 at the time.)

But another part of me… Continue

No change

The scale said I was exactly the same yesterday ... but I'll take that as a good sign since I went to the afternoon meeting in Cottonwood instead of my regular morning one up in Flagstaff.

You can read more about it here, at Adventures in Weight Loss.

And can I just say, I hate being sick!

Decent day

Overall, today was a pretty good day, Points-wise. If you subtract the 3 APs I earned for my 50-min, 3.15-mile walk, I still have 1/2 Point left to eat.

Hmm. I do think a midnight snack sounds mighty good ... Nope. I should just go to bed. I have to be up and be somewhere by 9 a.m., so I don't need a snack.

Wouldn't it be great to start Day 2 of the WW week with a full 35 FPs? :D

So, I feel horrible for you (and terribly jealous all at the same time). I can't imagine having to work in a food related business right now. Good luck with the daily battle!

Hi Arlene! I just wanted to pop in and say thank you for your comments! I am already planning my 'before party meals' for next week's wedding reception. I realize that I need to plan, plan, plan!

Hi Arlene! The resolution run is on January 9. Here is the link: http://www.runningmasters.net/Upcoming_Events/upcoming_events.html
It's $20 for early registration. I don't think it's a huge event - I've walked there before during a school event, but it's a great start to the new year! It's right by the Phoenix Zoo too, so very cool. :-D

Buddies we are. And I'm already admitting that I got into the damn Halloween Candy already this morning! When will it sink in?? I need to get serious!

I know, can you believe that? Who would have ever thought we could have a pumpkin shortage, honestly.

I've started adding in different proteins to see if I can digest them. I'm still having awful IBS, so being vegan wasn't helping any more (I did it for health reasons, not animal rights reasons). So far, so good! I've had fish and some dairy and all seems to be fine. Well, not fine, but not different I guess. It's nice to be "adventurous" and eat again instead of eating the same thing day in and day out :)

I agree about the music/tv/movies thing. I remember when Columbine happened, people were blaming Marilyn Manson and Silverchair... music that I listened to and I never conspired to shoot anyone or commit suicide. Of course, maybe it's one of those things where if you are predisposed to violence or depression or whatever, lyrics about killing someone might push you over the edge. Who knows?

When/if you have kids, make sure to teach them that some things just aren't appropriate in public and they'll be fine. ;)
