I am a 34 year old married mother of two who teaches high school special education. My youngest is approaching 2 and I still need to shed the weight I gained during my pregnancy. I am currently at 198 lbs. and my first goal is to get back down to 160. I recently joined the local gym. No more excuses, it is time to start taking care of me!

Not a good day so far

I am just having a down day. I injured my groin to hip area (can't even pinpoint how) and have not been able to exercise all week. Even having trouble gettting out of chairs and walking. This sucks! The Biggest Loser Class

So I pushed myself to go to The Biggest Loser class at the club today. I am just not ready for it yet. This is my second time going, different instructor today. Points for the day

Well today was my first day counting points. I have my books from when I did the Flexpoints plan a few years back, so I hope they are still the same. Overall not too bad. I did go over by 5 points, but I also had a birthday lunch to attend with no alternative options. I tried to focus my points there. Just found this site this morning and I am excited to see if it helps me to stay focused on my health plan. I joined the gym about 2 weeks ago and am slowly getting into a routine of going there. Hi Amy, i was stuck and couldnt push through 192 for several weeks, it was very frustrating. I finally did though, so stay encouraged and switch up your routine or add more days, that might help. You can do it!!

Hey Amy! Thanks for the comment. My sludges are definitely not for the faint of heart, but I tend to gravitate toward weird food :)

Honestly, my pre-workout snack varies day to day. Some days 1/2 a banana is enough, some days I need a lot more. For the last few months I've been sticking with the 1/2 banana and it's been working really well, even for my long runs which surprises me. Some days I'll put a little almond butter on it if I feel hungrier, or have a small bowl of puffed rice and almond milk. Some days I eat breakfast first (usually oatmeal) and then run a few hours later, and that also works! My husband can't eat a darn thing before he works out and I have no idea how he does it. I would pass out!
