Janice---I love the first and last book! I have not read the second one. Are you enjoying them? The first was a lot to take in, but I like to pick it up every once in awhile and have a refresher. The second one is fun to read.

My books came the other day! The got The Rules of Normal Eating, Overcoming Overeating, and When you eat at the Refridgerator, Pull Up a Chair. I am excited to read them and begin "normal" eating.

Did everyone hear that Karen Koenig is coming out with a new book? I am so excited! It is called "Nice Girls Finish Fat" and she started a new website for it www.nicegirlsfinishfat.com. I already ordered it and I am so excited!

Janice, I love all my intuitive eating books! It is nice to just pick them up, especially when you start to get all sucked into the diet mentality stuff. I find them so comforting. They just make sense! What books did you order?

The best part of the intuitive eating thing is really enjoying food, and also nurturing your body by giving it nutritious foods (which is what our bodies really want, if we just listened to them!). Your pizza sounded yummy--must have had so many nice flavors!

Hi Ana!! I have been off and on intuitive eating too...I have trouble sticking with it because I get scared of the "freedom" of it, but I think this group will be just the support I need to keep going with it!!!

I've always hated diets and even the word 'diet' seems so small and restricted. I've lost weight before doing intuitive eating so it only makes sense that going on diets will never work for me. I think it has to do with the mindset, as long as we feel we are restricting ourselves to a certain plan, we end up sabotaging. I wanna try eating intuitively again and hope I start losing the weight again.

I am waiting on some books about Normal Eating to arrive that I ordered from the internet. I made it to the gym four times this week, yeah! I really am excited about trying intuitive eating. It makes so much sense for me. I try to do that now but I am sure the tips I get here will help. I made an excellent pizza yestereday with whole grain crust, all veggies and no cheese. I did use a little olive oil and some anchovies for flavor. It came out great and I only at a small portion! I have plenty left for lunches this week. I cannot wait until my books arrive.

How are things going? I had a hard time doing the intuitive eating this past weekend--I was visiting the in-laws and there are so many funky dynamics with that family, so I was doing some emotional eating. Ick. But since being back home I am back to the intuitive eating.

I went to the baby doc yesterday, and took a glucose test--I find out the results today or tomorrow--having gestational diabetes might make the intuitive eating thing harder for me! the good news is that all the walking and eating whole foods is paying off--I have only gained 4 lbs (I am 22 weeks)! My doc says I am right on target to gain the recommended 15-20 lbs.

Hope all is well!

I agree! I have been reading Roni's blog for years and love that she started this blog. I am happy to find other people following normal/intuitive eating!
