Congrats Ladies!
We're on to Phase Two, making us one phase closer to living our Best Lives. Here's a run-down of our goals for this stage!

Time Frame
A minimum of four weeks. At the end of this phase, you should be within 20lbs of goal weight or at your goal weight - ready to move on to maintenance!

Weigh In
The first day of this phase, then again once a week

Focus
Significant and consistent weight loss brought by understanding and controlling your hunger and making a few dietary changes.

Objectives
* Build on the changes you made in Phase One
* Increase your activity level at least one level (optional)
* Understand the physical nature of your hunger
* Understand the emotional reasons for your hunger
* Use the hunger scale
* Eat reasonable portions
* Remove six empty or problem foods from your diet.
(soda, foods that contain trans fats, fried foods, white bread, regular pasta, and high-fat dairy products)

Let's do this ladies! We owe it to ourselves to be living our Best Life EVER =) I'm really excited by the progress we've all made, and I can't wait to see the lbs dropping off of each of us. We've got a lot of hurdels in this phase, so don't forget to start Discussions and check in on the wall!

Well, I ended up getting an Iphone since my old phone went kaput over the holiday weekend, so I've replaced the number obsession of my scale with the number obsession of a food tracking app! :-) I agree EmilyRose about how much seems to be working against us in terms of portion control. I've gotten in the habit of either eating only half, or only ordering a soup or salad when I go out (pretty good for the wallet, if I do say so!). On the home front, though, my mom bought a set of dishes a few years ago which were based on a pattern from the 1940s. Amazingly, they kept the proportions the same as the original--and what a shock. The small plate is the size of a modern saucer! The bowls hold less than some modern coffee mugs! She was thrilled. Myself, I'm just building a collection of small assorted pieces as I find them. Good job with the portion control--and keep sticking it to the Minions of the Evil Restaurant Empire!

Hey everyone!
How did the holiday weekend treat you? I've been really trying to focus on portion control lately. It's weird how we get SO MUCH food at restaurants, and think it's okay to eat the whole serving!

KRIS!
haha, you make me smile =) I know exactly what you mean about the song thing. I always think that stuff! Congrats on getting up to that next activity level. I hope we can all embrace our inner hardcore fitness fanatics.

Whoo hoo !

Love the new look! Good work, both of y'all on keeping yourself on point and upbeat!

My own phase one is kind of weird--according to my start and end weights, I dropped 4 pounds, but I know from my records that I was kind of swinging back and forth from high to low during that time. Down four, up two, down two...it wouldn't surprise me if my official WI in a few days puts me up one again. The *important* thing is that my clothes continue to fit more loosely and this week alone, I worked out 4 days out of six. So, I think I can say that I've hopped up an activity level, too. Woo! I've also started having insane thoughts like "Ooh--this would be a great song to run/walk to--I should go do that right now!" And yesterday afternoon, I actually ran on a treadmill...with a guy on the treadmill next to me...and didn't die of embarrassment! Looking forward to cultivating my inner hardcore fitness fanatic, and cheering y'all on your journeys! Go, go phase two!

Congrats Renee! You are so on track with that positive attitude. You're gaining some of that fat-burning muscle! I also love that you and I are so similar (lol) It's nice to have a friend around the same age/weight to relate to!

Just posted a blog about this, but i'm adding my own personal evil food to the list of foods to give up. PIZZA. I just gotta do it! Think about what food is your problem - maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to add it to your list =)

OOoooOOOoo! I love the new sparkly header!! So pretty :) I gained 1.0 in phase one, which I am not at all upset about because I know that my clothes are WAY looser than they were before phase one, so that means I did it right! I'm going to re-read phase two before I have to give my book back to the library and take really good notes. I had a crazy time these past four weeks so I am totally stoked that my weight did not go up (I'm not counting the 1 lb as a gain, I mean I'm recording it but is there a difference between 125 and 126? no, not really. so why is there a huge difference between 240 and 241?) I hope you are all as excited as I am! Em is right, 2009 is SO our year!

Ladies!! Are you ready for phase2? I'll be re-vamping this page for the next phase, and posting a new discussion too. Remember for your WI, no loss after phase 1 is NOT a failure! Your body is primed and ready to go for weight loss mode :)
