Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

I just wanted to start a discussion and tell you all a little bit about me, and I hope that all of you will post a bit about yourselves so that we can get to know each other.

So my name is Sabrina and I live in PA. I've been married for almost 2 yrs but have been with my husband for 4 and half. Have a brindlel bulldog named Lucian that was the center of world before are baby came along. Her name is Shelby and during the time that I was pregnant I gained 77lbs. Thats alot I know but the only time I didnt feel sick was when I was eating, so I ate all day long and sometimes I would get up in the middle of the night and have to eat something. She was born via c-section on March 2nd 2009, 10 days after her due date. She has been the biggest joy that I've ever known, but the weight I gained while pregnant I don't like so much. So I'm back to doing weight watchers and I've been on plan for about 6 weeks and I've lose 7.6lbs. That's enough about me, I want to hear about you guys.

P.S. You might be wondering how my very spoiled dog is handling her.....loves her!

I am Tricia, and I am from Nebraska. I am a Speech Pathologist in a school-based setting, so am counting down the days till summer (14 working days left). I have been married 5 years, and have a 2 1/2 year old son named Gavin. I am 30 weeks pregnant, but decided to join this group and get to know all of you now. I am definitely going to jump back on the Weight Watcher program as soon as I have the baby. I am due July 12th.
Before getting pregnant with my first son, I weighed anywhere from 180-190 and wore a size 14/16. I gained 40 lbs with Gavin, and then joined WW. I lost 60 lbs, and got down to 145 lbs and a size 6/8. I felt amazing. I was running and lifting weightings, and just feeling great. When we decided to have baby #2 (another boy), I was really worried about the weight gain of pregnancy. I told myself I would eat healthy and not gain as much as I did with Gavin. I instantly gained 10-15 lbs in my first trimester, just from easing up my diet/exercise routine. Then I had two great months of little gains. Week 20-28 hit and stress killed me. I gained a lot from Weeks 20 until now (about 40 lbs total). I still have 10 weeks to go, so I am just praying I don't go over the 200 lb mark.
I am anxious to get to know you ladies, and hear how you are doing so I am motivated to start dieting right after baby is born. I figure I am giving myself till Thanksgiving to be back in my skinny jeans. :)

I'm Ashley, a nonprofit volunteer coordinator in California. Next month, my husband and I will celebrate our four-year anniversary. I've got an amazing 16-month old daughter named Eve. When I got pregnant with Eve, I had just lost 50 lbs on WW. I was at 170 - the thinnest I had been since college. I had such good intentions of not gaining much weight and instead gained 70 lbs. (Tricia, here's my rationalization) I really think I gained 30 "real" lbs and 40 "fake" lbs. I gained the last 40 in the last month of pregnancy - 12 lbs in the last week! My bp jumped and got really, really swollen. I actually lost the 40 lbs in a single week after my daughter was born! The other 30, not so much. In the past year, I've joined WW, dropped out of WW, joined a boot camp style training program, dropped out of said program, and rejoined WW. Finally, I've lost 10 lbs and have been struggling between 187 & 190 for the past month and a half. I feel kind of funny joining the "post baby" board when my baby is a toddler now, but I've still got the bump. I've had several people ask me if my daughter is excited about becoming a big sister!!! :( Time to get rid of the bump!

Wow..Ashley. 40 lbs that last month. Definitely is "fake" weight. I don't think it is possible to gain 40 lbs of "true" weight in 1 month..plus if you lost it within a week. Glad you came over to this group too. Bye bye baby weight!

I love the name Eve! My middle daughter was supposed to be Eva, but we had a dispute about how to pronounce it, but when she came out I thought she looked like an Audrey anyway :) When's your daughter's birthday? Audrey's is Dec. 29, so she's a little over 16 mos right now.

Eve's bday is Jan. 3, so she just turned 16 mos this past week. Eve is acutally her nickname. Her full name is Everette, but that's just so long for such a little girl that we've shortened it up a bit. I love Audrey's name too.

I have to say, cutest picture ever!!! They're both adorable!

So... here goes a bit about me (kinda similar to sabrinas story)
My husband and I will be married for 2 years in september, we have an almost two year old daughter (yes, concieved and born before we got married tsk tsk !! lol) and an almost 3 month old daughter.
I also gained around 70is lbs with my first pregnancy, it was terrible, and I couldnt get it off.. Then I got pregnant again, I got lucky with my second pregnancy, I only gained 10lbs. STILL, brought me up to 245! Absolute madnessssss!

When I was pregnant with my first daughter I was on a constant binge! It was terrible! I told myself, "This is the only time in my life I can eat like a pig and get away with it" I guess just because I was pregant.. but wow. Was I ever wrong!! Its not that easy to drop 70lbs, specially once you have a baby to take care of!!! I ate toooo much chocolate chip cookie dough with brownie chunk iced cream!! lol

I'm super busy today though, I'll write more later :)

Chocolate chip cookie dough with brownie chunk ice cream! OH MY...yum! I also took that "when will I ever be able to eat like this again" mentality.

Hi I'm Michelle (Michelly on Blog to Lose). I have a 3 week old daughter, Katie. My wonderful DH and I just celebrated our 4th anniversary just after Katie was born. I, like Sabrina, have a fur baby, but mine is a toy poodle named Bella. (She is adjusting nicely after a bit of a hunger strike.) I lost 55 pounds on WW before becoming pregnant, but still had about 70 pounds to loose to get to my goal weight. I was hoping to only gain a minimal amount of weight during the pregnancy since I was still technically obese. However, I gained a total of 60 pounds. I was really nauseous all the time--yes the whole nine months. I ate what I could to not be sick, which turns out was peanut butter by the jarful, lots of Christmas cookies and chocolate. Katie was born at 9 pounds and 21 1/4 inces long. She was born via c-section after an induction and "failure to progress." She was just too big to come down and the petocin wasn't doing the trick. By the time I got home from the hospital, I had lost 16 pounds. Now I've lost about 30 pounds, but I'm a little worried because I'm hungry all the time becuase I'm nursing. Although it burns tons of calories to nurse, but I'm sure it's not a free ride to eat whatever I want or those 30 pounds are going to creep back on. I am planning to return to counting points when I get the ok from my doctor to exercise again. In the meantime, I'm going to try to limit the junk food and not slip back into the "eating for two" mentality. I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things here at Blog to Lose!

I know what you mean about nursing making you hungry - I'm ravenous all the time! I guess it's just about making good choices when you're really hungry that's key (which is where I've been having trouble). I find that I'm having cravings like I did when I was pregnant (hello skittles!). Thankfully, weight watchers does give you a little extra wiggle room when you're still nursing.

I'm Melissa, and I am from Florida. I've had 3 kids in 3 years (whew!) Nico is 3, Audrey is 16 mos., and Leila is 2 1/2 mos. I'm a sales admin for a developer by day, and elementary education student by night. I've got 2 semesters left of school, and can't WAIT to be done with my degree! With my son, I didn't gain hardly any weight until 25 weeks or so. I got really sick and had to be in the hospital for several weeks. Since I hate hospital food and couldn't cook, I ate junk and started some really bad habits. I ended up gaining 40 lbs. on top of the 'freshman 15' that I had gained in my first couple of years of college. Thankfully, my son was born healthy at exactly 40 weeks. I took off 20 lbs. and stalled, then got pregnant again. With Audrey, I gained only 20 lbs, but since I knew I wanted one more baby right away, I didn't put much effort into weight loss. Shortly thereafter, I got pregnant with Leila. I gained 15 lbs. total (weighed 165 at my last weigh in) - and now that I'm done, I really want to focus on losing weight. My goal is 35 lbs (which would take me to 5'1 and 115), and I'd like to do it by August -my hubby's 10 year HS reunion is then. Wish me luck!

Wow Melissa three kids in three years...you are a saint. Like I've said before I have the one baby and she's great don't get me wrong but I could never begin to think about how many dippers you change in a day. 3 kids to feed oh god I'm having a break down thinking about it. You should have no problems losing that 35lb with 3 little ones to keep up with. Good luck!

I'm Rose. I've been married to my DH, Stephen, for 10 years this coming September. We have two living children (Hannah, 5 and Cayden, 3). After giving birth to Hannah, it took me a year to realize how unhealthy I was. In August 2004, my life long best friend and I joined Weight Watcher. I was still nursing and in 10 months I had lost 46 lbs and was at my goal and lifetime membership! I kept the weight off for 3 months before becoming pregnant with my son. I gained back everything I lost plus 10 lbs. I nursed for 2 years and tried to get the weight off but struggled continually because I was not following any sort of eating plan. Finally this past month, I've gotten serious about losing this weight. I have 60 lbs to lose before I'm at a healthy weight. 20 to lose to my first 10% and 10 until my first 5%. In three weeks I've lost 4.8 lbs (and the 2nd week I ate like crap, gaining instead of losing).

My hubby got me a Wii Fit for Mother's Day and it's day 2 of working out with it. It's a great workout. . . and I'm enjoying it although I am sore. But that's expected. I also belong to curves, but DH and I were in a car accident in April which has caused me to not be able to use the weights at Curves. . . most of what I'm doing right now is cardio.

Here's to losing together!!
