Just wanted to check in with everyone. It's been 9 months since I had my little girl and I've 65 lbs of the 80 that I gained with the pregnancy. I lost the first 30 really fast, like in a week after I had her. Since I started Weight Watchers I lost about 35 more pounds and I feel great. I still have a lot to lose but chasing a 9 month old around the house helps me get some steps in.

I hope everyone is doing great, and I would love this group to be more active is you have any ideas on how to do that, please feel free to post them. Have a great week everyone!

congrats MommyMcButterpants.

I did my first 5K in October despite being way over my goal weight. It was exhilarating. Signing up for a race is definitely a motivator to train often and lose weight. Good luck on your Relay.

Just wanted to check in here- as this group isn't very active at the moment. Hoping, with Christine, to get it going a bit more. I'm a 33 yr old mom of 2 in Indianapolis, IN.

I had my daughter Lilly (my 2nd) on Nov 17. I go back to work on Jan 4th also. With my first pregnancy- I gained a lot of weight (70-ish lbs) and this time I managed to keep it at 40 lbs. I'm happy to say that at 4 weeks post delivery, I have lost 28 lbs already- just have to get those last 12 lbs off.

I signed up with a team of friends to do the Ragnar Relay in Utah in June- so I have lots of weight to lose and training to do. But I signed up for it so that I had no excuses and all the motivation to get back on track!

Hi everyone. I am hoping we can get this group to be more active!

I am still on maternity leave--head back to work on Jan 4th. Trying to not treat these last few weeks as a free for all. When I came home from the hospital I had lost 25 lbs, but I have gained back about 8 of those lbs. Breastfeeding makes me so hungry, and caring for an infant stresses me out a little (I am grabbing food on the go and grabbing whatever we have). Hopefully going back to work will help me--I do better with more structure when it comes to eating.

Today I designed and ordered our holiday postcard on Zazzle.com. It was so fun. It is a combined holiday card and birth announcement for Henry. 50 postcards were about $25, but they charged $9.99 for shipping. Oh well. They have a sale going on right now--you get 50% off photo cards, if you order 10 or more (use code 12DEALSCARDS at checkout). It is just today though--guess they will have a new deal tomorrow. (Sorry if this sounds like spam...)

I am trying to lose the baby bump 11 months after Baby #3. Nursing didn't allow me to drop the weight. I just dropped the last feeding 2 weeks ago. One thing that has kept me consistent over the last 3 months is exercising at 5 a.m. Tough for mom's with newborns, but those mom's who have sleep-through-the-nighters will see great results. Good luck to all.

Hi everyone. I just had my baby on Sept 10th. I gained 17 lbs with the pregnancy (I was overweight to begin with, so needed to keep gain to 15-20 lbs). Since his birth, I have lost about 25 lbs, but have another 50-60 lbs to lose. I am breastfeeding, so no dieting for awhile. I have been trying to eat whole foods and go on daily walks. Having a newborn is stressful, so I have been doing more snacking than I like--especially on sugary, fatty things. Kind of grabbing what I can when I can. Hopefully that will taper off in the coming weeks as the stress diminishes some.

I am looking forward to being a part of this group!

I appreciate the feedback so far- my next doc appt is next week- so I plan to ask too. I knew the standard answer is 6 weeks, but as I've been feeling better in 2nd trimester (and now the 3rd) I've tried to get more slow treadmill walks in. Nothing that gets the heart rate up too much, but enough that I'm getting some activity in. Assuming I feel up to it a few weeks after birth, I'd like to do some slow, light walking on the treadmill to get moving- or just take the baby for a walk in the stroller. Nothing strenuous- but I'm also assuming I'll have a non-eventful delivery- so hoping for a fairly easy recovery! Thanks again for the input- appreciate it!

Hi! Congratulations on your pregnancy with baby #2!!! I just had my second too - well, she will be 11 months old soon. Guess that's not recent. I also have a three year old daughter so I know where you are coming from. I was told that I shouldn't do any exercise for 6 weeks until my doctor approved it (I had a vaginal birth). I exercised before 6 weeks with my first - nothing hard core and not that soon before 6 weeks - but I guess I felt since I had a healthy pregnancy and delivery that I was okay to workout. With the second, I did some walking, but not much more than that until right at 6 weeks then I started cycling class again. I would give yourself those 6 weeks to rest and get adjusted to life with two. I know you probably want to get back into exercising and trying to lose weight (I did too!), but giving myself a little time afterward felt like the right decision.

First I would like to welcome you to the group, it's nice to have you with us.

Now on to your question. I was told nothing for 6 weeks and after that I would I have to clear it with my doctor. But I had a c-section so it might be different for you.

Hi All- I'm still pg with my 2nd- at 28 weeks I'm starting to think ahead to my plans after having this baby and had a question. I also posted this on the Having a Healthy Pregnancy link- but wanted to get other input here. Thanks!

I've looked at several books and had some differing info- and didn't get a chance to ask my doc today.
Post-partum- do I have to wait 6 weeks to start an exercise routine if I'm feeling ok? Nothing strenuous- but maybe 30 minutes on a treadmill? What have you been told? Thanks!
