I am a huge fan of Tosca Reno and all her books. I have been eating clean and really enjoying the way I feel inside and out. Now I am trying to get my children and husband to do the same...not so lucky here! But I am determined to get all the process chemicals out and get them healthier!

“Clean eating" is practiced by bodybuilders and health-conscious people alike. Clean foods are natural, free of added sugars, hydrogenated fats, trans-fats and anything else that is unnatural and unnecessary. Many people use this diet as a way to lose weight. Used as a way of life, clean eating can make you feel healthy and full of energy.

New cookbook due out in September: Clean Food: A Seasonal Guide to Eating Close to the Source with More Than 200 Recipes for a Healthy and Sustainable You by Terry Walters. Sounds good!

Tonight I ground raw almonds very fine, almost a powder and coated Mahi Mahi for the grill (george forman that is :) ) I did not have fresh mango so i cheated and used a mango jam and teriyake However this recipe would be GREAT with puree mango or peach mixed with some agave nectar or honey to top the almond crusted fish! Just wanted to share as it was so yummy

oh yeah, also, try looking in the produce section for natural salad dressings. They usually have to be refrigerated. I like Bolthouse Farms' Ranch. It's made with yogurt instead of mayo and is really yummy. It's 70cal/ 2T.

I'm a little late on the salad dressing topic but I usually make mine with balsamic, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, kosher salt, ground pepper and fresh thyme. Sometimes I switch up the vinegar to red wine instead of balsamic. You could also use some oregano instead of thyme. I saw a blueberry balsamic at the store that I am dying to try...

I kinda wing it but the next time I make it I'll try to figure proportions for you. I love so I use it pretty quickly I don't think I've had it hang around any longer than a week.

Erica, that sounds delish! Do you use exact measurements or do you just wing it? Also, how long does it last in the fridge? Thanks!

I love making dressing & never buy it! My current fave is with lemon juice, white wine vinegar, soy sauce, fresh rated ginger, fresh crushed garlic clove, a tsp of dark sesame oil, evoo, a couple strawberries. I blend it until smooth & emulsified. It is really good!!

I just had some dressing made with olive oil and red wine vinegar and it was delicious. Try that!
