The Twin Cities Breast Cancer 3Day is August 21-23 this year. As a 1 1/2 year breast cancer survivor I will be participating in this amazing event for the first time ever. And this is in thanks to Elaine whom made the mistake of telling me that SHE is also interested in doing the 3Day someday! So out of that short little sentence came the reality that we WILL do the walk this year...2009!!

Elaine is from Oklahoma, so she is even flying to Minneapolis to participate! Can you believe that? I guess that is proof of the wonderful people you can meet here on Blog To Lose.

What we are looking for is CHEERLEADERS! Someone to push us along with our training and even help out a little bit with our fundraising! Their recommended training schedule is pretty demanding! And about the fundraising...each of us needs to raise $2300. And if we come up short, we have to cover it ourselves! (hence the motivation...lol)

If you are in the Twin Cities and are already registered for the walk, or if you are considering registering.. feel free to join us! We haven't officially created a team yet, but more than like will in the near future.

Their proposed training schedule is pretty demanding!

Ladies....Robyn and I have bracelets for sale. They are pink and say "hope." (Quite like the LiveSTRONG bracelets). We are selling them $2 each or 3 for $5....get in touch with me if you would like to buy some. I can ship them to you for free :)

Yeah... me too! They will have some organized training walks in my area, so I'm pumped for that! Check to see if there are any organized walks even "close" to you. Not sure where your closest "3Day" is or when...but you never know!

Those 17 or 18 mile walks scare the bee-jeezers out of me!! I gotta find a walking buddy to do them with me.

Thanks for joining us Liz!!! Since Elaine and I are already active...we probably only need to do the 16 week training they have outlined. It starts out with short walks (3-6 mi.) Tues/Thurs...Cross training Wed/Fri then long back-to-back walks on the weekends. Most are 8-18 miles. Here's the schedule if it makes sense:

Example: week 16 : rest Monday, Walk 3 Tuesday, 0 min cross trainig Wed, Walk 4 Thursday, 30 min. crosstraining on Friday, Walk 5 on Sat, Walk 3 on Sun....weekly total of 15

Our little group is slowly getting bigger!! Ladies, spread the word on BTL so we can make this a HUGE group.
