Okay, my WW leader sub said to try the sugar-free fake maple syrup. So I did and I was an instant convert. I specifically tried Cary's, but I've heard Smuckers is good, and my parents swear by the Maple Grove Farm stuff. Anyway, I have a horrid sweet tooth (how many of us don't) and LOVE sweeter salad dressings. I used the maple syrup as a base to make a fairly sweet vinaigrette that helps me tick off my two tsps of olive oil each day for WW. I don't use the other healthy oils b/c I'm not brave enough yet and I've always loved olive oil.
Maple vinaigrette
2 tsp olive oil
2 tsp balsamic vinegar
1 Tbs sugar free maple syrup (the one I use is 30 calories for 1/4 of a cup...I use only one fourth of that so I don't count any points for those 7.5 fat-free calories)
1 tsp dijon mustard
1 small garlic clove crushed
Salt and pepper to taste
Mix with a whisk and enjoy on your favorite veggies or salad.
