Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

Hi everyone. Im brand new to blogging and feel I need to find a way to be accountable. My life has been extremely hectic and I cant ever find support around me that is consistant. Im hoping to be accepted here and find new friends.

Three years ago I tried WW for the first time and was able to lose 65 lbs in only 6 months. I hit a wall emotionally and gained it all back plus some the following year. The last 15 months I have yo-yo'd the same 12 lbs up and down but mostly maintained the weight of 248 on average with my highest being 259.

I need to be committed as my health is dismal at this point. Im 27 and suffering from type 2 diabetes, extreme lethargy, and hormonal imbalances due to my weight.

I need help, so much. I am excited to get started and hope I find support here.

Hi Twana... welcome to BTL... I'm pretty new too! But its really supportive, and inspirational to be here. I log on multiple times a day, and found that the forums and groups are super helpful... friends are easy to make because everyone on here has been through the challenge of trying to lose weight... its a great community to share ideas, successes and mistakes.

I understand not having a really strong support network at home/work, so its great that you are here... people are kind and welcoming with lots of words or wisdom! I hope that you are able to find what you are looking for here... a good support network is the first step, and knowing you have been able to lose the weight in the past is a good way to know you are CAPABLE!

Congrats on joining a great group of people here at BTL... looking forward to reading your blog!

Hi Twana - I am new to this just today. Reading through some of the other comments I found something new I had never heard anyone say "One day at a time - I can do this today" and I think that is what may be the words to inspire me and help me through this. Look forward to hearing more from you and how you are doing in the time to come.

I agree with Wendy about the inspiration behind the "one day at a time" mentality. If u screw up, its so much better to not dwell, today is a new day and another chance to get back on track. Otherwise you let yourself feel defeated and give up for months at a time and wonder what happened. Good luck!

Twana, welcome! First, let me applaud you for taking steps to better your health. Not many people can actually make the decision to choose good health, particularly when its so easy to choose poor health. Let's face it, its easier to pick up the remote rather than go for a hike! But people who consciously choose their health are already winners, you're ahead of the game! Congratulations! Getting started and getting into the habit are the worst part of getting healthy by any means. Once the habit is formed, its pretty easy to continue. With that said, a support group is one of the best ways to continue that habit. Seriously, they hold you completely accountable. Its probably the only time I would condone guilt!! There's that sense of not wanting to let anyone down, especially yourself. I know, the network I have, I feel so badly if I don't work out, because, well they did. So why am I still sitting here?? (suddenly feeling the need to do push ups....) 8o)

I am happy for you, and if you need, you can message me anytime. I'm happy to help out anyway I can. I'll check in on you from time to time to see how you are doing! You can do this. I have complete faith in you. You're already over the first hurdle, don't stop now!!!

Have a great and healthy weekend!!
Carolyn
