It just occured to me...

While I am very happy to have dropped into the 170's finally, it kind of sucks that I dropped into the 170's this week...that means I lost a point a day for Thanksgiving week!
But I'll take that lost point and still do the dance of joy. And I will just make sure to be careful all week so I go into the big day with my flex points intact. Some days I just feel I can't do it

Today was not a great day. I didn't go to the gym as planned. I was supposed to do 3.5 miles. It takes less than an hour, so why won't I just DO IT?!

Ugh. Tomorrow was my scheduled rest day on our training schedule. I think I'll do the run I missed today tomorrow afternoon as a recharge between study sessions. Also on tap for tomorrow: making better food choices.

Halfway there and recommitting

After I graduated college back in December 2008, I decided to dedicate time to my body and health which had been very neglected during my intellectual pursuits. One day at a time...

After "practicing maintenance" as my ww leader says, for the last... oh at least 6 months, I'm feeling ready to start losing again. I'm taking it one day at a time, currently on day 5 of counting points again, and just generally being more conscious about what goes in my body. I'm also trying to be more conscious about how different foods make me feel, which I think is really helpful.

friday- day 3 & not looking back

today was an overall great day for me. I faced a couple situations that may have caused bad eating behaviour with me before but I was prepared with a plan adn was able to stick to it! I started the morning off right with some strength training followed by a run. Then I had a long walk running some errands. I finally got my power cord for my lap top in the mail. I've been lost without my computer. I did pretty good this week considering my son was sick and home from school. I went to the gym 2 days out of the 3 days he was sick. So I got 4 days in at the gym this week. Just trying to do things differently from normal. Moving on down...

My version of a detox has really gotten things back on track this week. Decisions as small as using whole organic carrots (not the scary chemical-dipped, shaved down, 'baby' kind) to eat hummous for lunch or slowly going through a half gallon of Odwalla's Green Machine as a post-coffee drink were enough to get the rest of my day on track.
